Your maps are beautiful my friend.

Wonderful map, Kalek.

I see in these maps so very many things I should have seen... ...and that I now may not need to.

I took three attempts: One to find out that I had to put the Forge and CN somewhere slightly different, one to run out of Ore, and one to win.

Once I worked out exactly what the threats were, it was long but not difficult.

Possible bug: On the second attempt, the Alien was caught in a loop on the lower left track. The warp at the end of it would take it back to the start. Killing it meant that it traversed the other sections once, then got trapped again. Fixed on restart.

Perhaps the immature respawning Alien should be more vulnerable?

And finally: I think that even if help didn't arrive, once the Queen was dead, I would have won easily.

May there be more maps, you seem to surpass yourself each time.

I played all Your maps. Sorry, but first time in this map I was not satisfied at all.  :(

Very good idea, interesting effects, but again "difficult" terrain - I have to find and find and find...  proper place for collectors, and Aliens kill it and again many many hundreds times... Crazy annoying process, not enjoyable at all. And also very difficalt color of creeper similar with color of terrain with collectors.

Good part of game was only in the end - atomic bomb and helpful Thor.  :)

It is pity that You made so great work, but frankly speaking so sad result...

P.S. Sorry for the Frank comment and remain Your fan!  :)

Your maps are beautiful my friend.

Thanks, many of yours have been very stimulating for me.
As you might have seen I used some of your tricky scripts in some maps (with credit of course !)

Thanks for your comment, glad you liked it.

Regarding bugs, maybe yes. I tested many times and got nothing bad, but, as I don't know anything in coding, I might have done weird
things...

"respawning Alien should be more vulnerable". No, because with a good understanding of the process (don't shoot like a gun crazy) , you face them 2/3 times max.

"once the Queen was dead, I would have won easily."  Of course you had, this is an easy map, but in the story, Bishop comes back to help, and, I am sure you agree, destroying all theses eggs would have been very boring... I 4x the last part of the game.

Thanks again for your interest.

No problem Yum, this is just a litte game, sometimes enjoyable sometimes not. And critics are good.

But one thing, you said :  "... Aliens kill it and again many many hundreds times."...

If you really experienced this, I understand you find this play really annoying. Personally I had given up... meanwhile, you have a very good time  !

I think, before launching the missile (the goal)  you may loose 3/5 units max... You might have notice that if you don't shoot the eggs nothing happened (a simple spayer destroy the small amount of creeper), if you kill the running alien, he comes back with full killing range... adamantium relay are alien proof... but maybe you didn't notice this clues...

ps :
Next time , as i promised to you  will find, for the first time in History,  a map very flat  with only 2 levels terrain...

GoodMorning

I took the time to kill all of the eggs, leaving as many hatchlings alive as possible (Free AC!), and enjoyed it (probably because it was optional, but an unusual challenge). The terrain was not an issue for me. I thought to have a vulnerable stage for the Alien before the first jump, because the graphic was different. It was a suggestion only.

More please, and a suggestion: something similar, with cramped terrain, but having finite units on both sides.

Your are right, killing all eggs, one by one,  could be fun ; When I test this map, I tried that too, it's was fun of course, but also long and sometimes difficult, that's why I was sure that players would have think that something was going wrong doing that, and  found a better and quicker strategy...  It doesn't seem to be the case for many of them !!

Regarding possible bugs, when I told you I don't know anything in coding, it's not a joke. Of course I have a little understanding, but I do it step  by step, I "imagine" how this can be done and try it... If it works I am happy, but absolutly not sure if it is done in a good way... But this game is a good way to learn.

Thanks for your interest.

GoodMorning

All code is written by imagining what could be done. Sometimes code is improved by imagining what could be done better/faster/more efficiently/more elegantly.

However, your maps bring home the point that the play is the important bit. Code, terrain, graphics, limits, techs, ... it's not doing everything that matters, it's doing what you do do well. Consider the Sleeper, or PaC, as opposed to some gameplay-light story-heavy maps, to your recent series (may it continue), and on to all of the other ideas that are good: Something is done fantastically, most things are done well, and the rest don't come up.

May I suggest the War of the Worlds?

Game On Demand to Master Kalek?  ;)

I also!  :)

GoodMorning

Suggestion, perhaps, or hope. Even, perhaps, verging on 'request', but never 'demand'.

I hope to have planted the seed of a good idea, but a 'demand' would suggest impatience for completion. When and if it comes, let it be naturally and with all the time, thought, skill and talent that have characterised the previous maps.

On a different note, I wonder if you might have something with the capitalised 'Master' honorific? Such a flag might help catalyse map quality... or not. Thoughts?

Perhaps we could arrange, for a time in a few months, an exhibition of 'masterpiece' maps, to be completed between now and then? Masterpiece here being used in the sense of a journeyman's work to demonstrate their skill in their craft. Months, to allow time to dream up an idea, and execute it well. Thus, over a specified weekend, a whole series of beautifully crafted maps might be released.
