Yeah, I don't use the thing to actually cheat in the game. That would be like playing chess against a computer and forcing it to play without some of its pieces. This is a very cool strategic game and the speed hack enhances playability without making it easier. (It's actually harder to play at 10x speed without pausing... go figure.)

But there are speed hacks you can use to speed up the game to pretty much as fast as your computer can handle it, which will vary based on how big the map is. It's open-source freeware but I dunno if there are forum rules to posting such things. But if you look for speed hacks I'm sure they're somewhere out there.

Is that 10x real or just a slip of the keyboard?

I also tend to play at higher speeds after I get my initial build up and then when I can see that I have won I tend to play around a bit and end up with higher times haha.

It's a speedhack, which allows the map to run faster. The smaller the map, the faster it can go. I use that to help make maps go faster even though it usually makes my recorded time higher.
