Why do you guys build these maps that give you no time to build anything? How am I supposed to beat the creeper and 100 spores coming at me in less than two minutes?

The point is you can build a defense in the time allowed. You can place some power in the PZs and you have an energy cell. Its enough trust me, I did it and im the worst starter of any CW3 map.

I've tried it six ways from Sunday. No matter what I do, I'm overtaken by creeper or spores, I can't stop both.

Remember ore is "free". Use that and many collectors. Oh, and many beams.

Hi DJ    Here are a few ideas that help me deal with maps that need a fast start...

1- I am an old duffer so I start the map at 4X speed and time the creeper progress and spore launch times
IE:- Creeper arrives in the east end at about 2:17 and the 4x20= 80 spores fire at 3:17
A fair amount of time to build what is needed... I save this glance into the future in slot #3 for reference cause old duffers like me have crappy memories... and then restart the map...
2- Vanilla beams can destroy 2 spores... So MINUMUM vanilla beams = 80/2= 40
It takes about 1 1/2min to build and charge beams with spare energy without a forge... so watch the clock...
3- Look at the goodies... 10 ore, 5 Totems, 2 jewels and 4 PZs... And a forge. 3 Berthas, and no units are zeroed...
Note- A reactor on a PZ yields 10x the energy... Need a fast start? 4 reactors on PZs yield 4x3= 12 energy... Way faster and cheaper than building 40 reactors x 50e= 2000 energy...
But... 3 berthas on 3 PZs later in the game yield triple blasts and recharge twice as fast... so each PZ bertha is 3x2= 6 times as powerful
Note. 5 Totems... so building the forge ASAP is key... It takes about 1:1 to build the forge... ouch... but necessary... Note the best players are taking 10 to 20 game minutes to finish this map... so lots of time for the forge to strengthen your units...
4- Old duffers hands shake... and even 1X speed is a blur to these tired old eyes..  Even the P (Pause) key is too fast for me...  But Knuckle-cracker gave us the "N" key... each tap advances the game less than 1/10th of a second...
5- Energy makes or breaks the game.... so before you start by pressing the "N" key... layout the collectors, the forge, the syphons, and lots of reactors... then click on each then press the "O" & "C" keys to freeze everything except the green energy syphon jewel... THEN tap the "N" key till the green syphon is energized for a FAST start... and O & C key all the collectors, the forge, and the reactors on those 4 PZs... for fast energy...

Thank you for your feedback DJ... I have since played and enjoyed and recommended many of your maps... Your innovative map designs demonstrate high CW3 skill levels - so - having had second thoughts - I feared my advice was over detailed...  A problem of old retired engineers like me that my wife of 55 years occasionally mentions...
