So much lag...
but fun.

I have tried just about everything.   

How do you establish a footing to defeat this map?   

I have tried blowing up the speed boosts so that the sides aren't draining my power,
I have tried rushing to build a bomber
I have tried rushing to build turrets/mortars...

I always lose because I cannot generate enough power early on or establish a power grid to have the weapons to keep things at bay. 

Help....please

Any tips or hints would be appreciated.

At the risk of stating the obvious, have you tried turning off green packets?

Turning off the green packets....

Well, unless there is some sort of switch or setting that I can toggle to disable the green packets right away then I am going to assume you mean just destroying the supply route to the totems.   In which case, yes.   

I would be super surprised if I found out that there is such a setting after all the years playing this game.   lol

You can click on the Green, White and Red orbs around Odin City to toggle that type of packet on/off.

Green is totem.
White is build.
Red is ammo.

As soon as I read that comment I loaded up the game and clicked everywhere on Odin City.   Nothing came up or anything to turn off any color of orbs. 

So then I thought, maybe I have an older version of the game.   Right now, it is saying 0380 as my version number.   What version do you guys have?

Okay, after looking around I noticed my version was NOT up to date.   I got the latest version and beat the map.   Woot!   Definitely fun!   Thanks.

That's very old. I checked my files. I have the base installer version 0572 dated February 2011, and the 0632 patch from November 2013 (which is the current version).

I play the game from time to time.  Usually for about 2 weeks or so I will play non-stop and try all the new custom maps.   But that usually happens once every 6 months.  lol 

I had no idea that there were still regular updates for this older game.    Note to self from now on!
