When Skynet bagan space exploration and came face to face with the Particles, all options were hastily pursued to combat this threat to SkyNet's expnading AI. Simultaneus with beginning mass manufacture of a purpose designed fleet, old human made ships were taken out of mothballs and converted for The Machines immediate use. Now equipped with squadrons of CyberDyneSystems Hunter Killer fighters, the old Aircraft carriers of the US navie's past were sent into space to support the front line.
