why can't I see them in browser (this applies to any browser ie firefox opera and chrome)?

Do you mean attachments or direct images? Usually the image host is to blame.

Yeah it depends on the actual image host. Some people use different one, I usually stick with imgur, it hasn't broken down on me for 3 years now. :)

Since the switch to SMF 2 (from 1.4) I noticed that many images were gone. I reuploaded my own avatar and many attachments (where images are often linked to) from before the change were gone. So if KC was the host, old images are most likely gone.

I usually attach images to the attachment option in the knuckle cracker forum, but whenever someone else posts an image, I have to strictly download it with no view in browser option. I don't think there is a host unless knuckle cracker forum uses a host.
