You're back to your old form.  Tough but possible.

I find the need to keep watch for stunned runners annoying but I doubt there's any way to do your sort of map without the risk.

Awesome map.

I rarely get time to play these days so I'm pleased I chose this one!

Spoiler

As usual, I avoided engaging the runners. Ignore them. They'll go away!

Amazing time Cavemaniac, lightning fast!

Spoiler
This map took me a little while to realise that you can land at the top and bottom of the screen, I started by trying to just use the centre and a load of guppies, fun challenge but was taking ages!

Once I spotted this it was routine but still fun and satisfying.

You have to keep the creep out of your base, that means shooting it.  Sometimes you stun a runner that way and they're very juicy runners.  Once you have a few upgrades to your cannons they can be ignored but at first they're dangerous.

Glad you enjoyed it fellas.  Excellent scores!

I didn't upgrade my cannons at all - I just set them to 'Digitalis' mode and set them back a wee bit so they were less likely to try to engage runners.

Well done Cavemaniac!  I am amazed at all the combinations players make to get to the end.  That is still what
makes this a good game.

The first time I played this map, I held the center.  The second time I played I didn't place anything in the center
at all.

I enjoy your comments.  By the way, I am guessing Arizona on the mountains behind you.  Am I in the right
section of America?  When I was young, I used to love exploring caves in Death Valley and that area.  Both caves
and mines.  Know that area like the back of my hand.  The desert holds a special place in my life.

Blessings

You're right - that's what makes this game so good - there's no right or wrong way to play. Some ways are quicker, some are more efficient, some are more fun.

But as long as we crush the creeper, it doesn't matter how we play!

Dude, you're so far off in your guess that you're on the wrong continent!

It's northern Namibia.

Totally off topic, but I've included some other photos taken both of and from that rock spire.

I live at the top of a small green (read: 'often wet') island, where the east and west coasts are only a 45 minute drive apart, and you'll also run out of land if you drive north for a couple of hours.

Consequently, I'm a desert nut!

I love wide open landscapes and the Southwestern desert States of America are definitely on my bucket list.

I'll drop you a line when I get there and you can show me around your old stomping ground!
