Enemy Idea

I love CW3 and especially love Colonial Space but after making one map I realized I don't have the time or patience (or skill) to make a lot of maps.  I really appreciate those of you who do make maps by the way!  However, I had an idea for a new type of weapon that I think could make for some interesting maps.  The idea is to make a "super weapon" that the player has to build throughout the mission.  The build would happen by collecting "parts" from the map and then actually building the weapon up.  The weapon would be usable from the beginning but continue to get more powerful as you go along.  Ideally you wouldn't be able to move forward until your weapon was stronger although that'd probably be pretty tough to balance.

As far as what the weapon would be, I'd say any type of weapon would work.  I was imagining a weapon that is a combination of many types of current weapons.  For example, the first level would be similar to a PC, the second level might be a PC where the bullets explode like a mortar shell, the third level would give it mobility, and the fourth level would give it an extra weapon similar to the dark beam (somebody made one in a custom map).

Anyway, that's just an example...what the weapon would be doesn't matter to me.  It is the concept of building the weapon that I think could make for an interesting map.  Feel free to take the idea and run with it!
