I found this map tedious at best and after 10mins of playing and getting wiped out twice I just don't enjoy it.

@chwooly - I've been glad to help you a couple of time when you couldn't figure out how to do other maps. Let me help you one more time and ask you to read this:
http://knucklecracker.com/forums/index.php?topic=15512.0

Thanks for the help, however given the comments I have seen regarding stupid CW players that downvote because they can't beat a map, of which I am a proud member of same stupid group. then how can the map makers make maps that appeal to a larger audience if all they ever hear is praise from a few elite players?

Do you want me to make an easy version, then?

"Hard maps" are my thing (though I'd hesitate to call them completely hard. Hard starts, maybe.) There are plenty of easy and medium CS maps out there, as well as the DMD.

Maybe there should be two separate rating scales for "fun" and "difficulty." Although, we already have a pretty good measure of difficulty with DLs-to-scores ratio.

So. Easy mode?
(If you just want help with this one I'll be glad to give it.)

Some of your maps have been hard but fun, and I appreciate the work that goes into making these maps. This one was just frustrating for me. Sorry for not giving constructive criticism in my original post. Yes, I would like to see an easier version of this map. Maybe there is a way for the beam to only destroy things on high ground say above 6?

Cheers

I was able to finish this with no restarts. I did end up moving lots ofy movable units and rebuilding much of my base to do it. (Hint: relays are your friend. Get in close enough to that evil dark beam and a pair of relays can link the halves of your base for nearly half a rotation.

I too was completely unable to see the buttons on the good dark beam. There is ZERO contrast  there. (I accidentally blew away my entire link between base and beam and half a dozen weapons trying to find them by feel.)

I'm officially stumped.
I started out by attacking all of the corrupted Reactors I could reach, plus the Runner's Nests. Maybe not the right approach.
Advice friendly advice out there?

I killed the center bottom emitter and didn't worry about the nests. (When you can afford a strafer and have a PZ to put it on you'll be able to take the runners pretty much out of play.)

Attached is the order I nullified things in.
I started building PCs to hold back the digitalis somewhere between 1 and 2 and sent a guppy up to the friendly dark beam somewhere between 3 and 4. The dark beam is great at destroying digitalis if you have enough energy, as it quickly sweeps over the emitter and surrounding area.
Pretty sure I'm supposed to be banned, someone might want to get on that.

Thanks, This helped a lot and I did manage to beat it. I decided to try and get rid of the reactor carrier generator first and that helped immensely.

I admit, first few times I tried his, i was stump. The beam would over run me, and the creeper took over while I tried to rebuild. Then i found out the dark core, control the speed. I must have missed that, so When I started removing them, and the beam got slower, it allow me to win.
Also the tip about the Guppy really helped too.
