I don't know what you did, but the map is unplayably slow. It's basically crashing Adobe Air :-/

sorry to hear that.

the map lags for some reason due to the dig sites. after the dig sites have gone (5 mins) there is no lag and the map runs as normal. i have not had any AIR issues...

Strubbel

The reason for the lag is quite simple: You have set the dig sites to send out packets every(!) frame.
This, in combination with various dig sites and multiple, nonreachable diggable fields (in the beginning), causes massive lag...

You have to set the dig interval to a higher setting, for example 30 ^^ For further information read here:

Gateways: these are complicated. Health is the same as with emitters, dig interval determines how often it sends out a dig packet. 0 means it doesn't dig, 1 means it sends out 1 packet per frame (30 packets per second.... Not recommended, extremely laggy) and 30 means 1 per second. And so on and so forth...

hey man, i appreciate the effort, but 5 mins is 300 secs, each second of the games time was taking 30 secs real time, so 1 game secs per real time 30 secs = 150 mins, that's a bit rough! :o (i have a quad 2.6Ghz 4 GbRam machine, i know CW2 uses only one core but still 2.6 isn't exactly slow)
i assume that the lag will decrease as the dig packets do the job, but after 10 (game) secs it was too laggy to be fun. could you get a similar effect with decayable terrain? if not dig is the only option, perhaps one gateway digging at 1 per sec (30 frames) could help reduce the lag bit?
shame cos i like maps that took some work, just too laggy for fun for me

oh Strubbel beat me, oh well so it goes

Grauniad

That's really weird, I don't get the terrible lag. My game runs at ~23FPS initially.

thats a lot of lag. i was getting lag on fast speed at real time. ie 1 second = 1 second for the 5 mins. then it was normal. i understand the error now. didnt think the dig sites could cause such a problem...specially with quite high spec puters. im running an MSI i7 @2.4.
