Very clever use of fields and features of CW2.
Much enjoyed playing this.

Another map that's going to get a bunch of 'too hard' downvotes.

Because it's too hard. I tried both directions, couldn't do it. I don't like maps that absolutely REQUIRE top 0.1% play, playing on slow with pauses every time you see a packet move, etc. The closest I came to rescuing that pod on the right near the research tech, the creeper buildup on the last block was at like 45k. I'm sure I could shave some more time off, but I'm sure it require the kind of 'gameplay' that I view as 'work' and not 'play'.

Sorry, didn't like the map. I liked the IDEA of the map, just not the implementation. I wanted to win this one, but for a map this size, it would just take too long and be too much of a chore instead of an enjoyment.

I enjoyed it, had to restart a few times but eventually worked out the optimum speed, and still has some flexibility (tiny, tiny bit),

Just be willing to sacrifice a few blasters and you will have more flexibility. :)

I am not too fond of this map, because you get down there to the digging gateway, and then you have to wait quite some time for the creeper to catch up. Hate having to sit and stare at a map that requires timing.

And I was that fast, and the second time I played I made sure to strategically retreat from the creeper with every new rift I built so I wouldn't have to wait as long to free up that packet gateway, and it still ended up with me waiting on creeper to get down there. I just really dislike "very narrow window" maps, and always have.

i agree with this, on this map i tried a few times, then got bored of the "rinse and repeat" method and looked in here to see if i was missing something or having a derpy moment,  but no.
i just don't like the forced method type of map i suppose  :-\

There's something you can do to speed this up:
Spoiler
build a gateway right next to the digging gateway

I wonder what else the person who beat my time by a minute figured out that I've overlooked!

Neat map.  First attempt I didn't notice the timing required for the research tech area.  I got the creeper from about 45M down to 4M before it broke through.  At that rate I knew I was just a hair off from clearing it with LOTS of ideas to speed it up.  With an OK 2nd attempt I easily cleared it with lots of time to spare.

A few simple tips to help speed up the left side.  The middle section seemed pretty straight-forward.
Spoiler
*Click the diggable walls so they dig out ASAP.  This way you're not waiting for walls to come down.
*open the top-left decaying wall early to give the creeper a head start.  Use rifts ahead of the oncoming creeper.
*be sure to rift next to the wall with the blue X on it.

Not too hard once you realize the creeper on the left is what you end up waiting on, so the sooner it comes down the more time you have to clear the 2nd column.

While the first half was stressful, the second half was a MAJOR let down.
Spoiler
*Once you got the 2nd capsule, there really wasn't a challenge left.
*The research tech seemed pointless and a waste of time to build.
*2nd gateway was completely pointless, could be ignored.
*The final drone was easily handled by the 6blasters using the 2launcher as a meat shield.
