Creeper confinement centers

Here's an idea that might fit in with CW2: creeper confinement centers. They could be sealed vaults, containing either an emitter, a fixed amount of creep, or even a gate to an unfathomable ocean of creep that would certainly wipe out the planet if it were to be opened. Of course, if creep comes into contact with one of these confinement centers, they would get worn down after not too long and then the creep would be unleashed, resulting in either instant death or at least a formidable wave of creep. In the latter case, there could even be maps where it's strategically risky and expensive to try to protect the confinement center.

So something like that. Probably a CW2 kind of thing. It would fit in with a plot in which the creep has been pushed back and dealt with somehow, but not conclusively for all time. CW1 had a vague and inconclusive ending, so this should be doable.

Can you dig it?

Hate to say it to you, but gameplay-wise, one word: Walls.

But it could be interesting, nonetheless.

Also, emitters with maximum delay, which I did use once just to see how long it would take to get rid of all the creeper from a maximum intensity emitter. That was...interesting.

Story-wise, though, it's doable.

Which one are you thinking of?

This could also be used in conjunction with modified spore attacks. Say, you could have astronomy centers that track spore meteors, or something, and forecasting takes energy and can only give you certain estimates of where the meteors will land, and they get more accurate the closer the meteors get, and sooner the better equipped your center is. So there could be a map where some emitters have just been placed, there's a confinement center containing a gate to an ocean of creep, and the creep has just launched a creep meteor at it.

Meteors could contain a lot more creep than a typical spore attack, and maybe even contain an emitter. Why not up the stakes a little for the sequel?

What do you mean, which one am I thinking of?

I'm not thinking of the equivalent of a wall around an emitter. I'm thinking more of a well-maintained structure that can be broken if creep attacks it from the outside.

You can edit the intensity of spores in spore waves in the map editor, so...yeah. Of course, you can't get them to aim at a spot, just the direction they come from (I think they aim at random buildings, but I could be wrong). Emitters would be...challenging, to say the least.

Also, answering in order of questions:Ah, I see. Keep stuff in, but breakable from the outside. That could....probably be programmed. Would also be an interesting challenge.
