Easy way to buy your offence/defence time - drones required

Look for the deepest creeper there is, and if it ties, go for the one with lower terrain or is farther from the emitters. Send 2 drones to the deeper/bigger/farther one and 1 to the other, so that the creeper will be delayed and the "front lines" will fall back as the creeper attempts to refill the trench that used to be full. It works all the better if you have 6 drones, because as soon as one squad gets back, you can launch another and also keep from getting charging delays from a lack of production. Also, if you can get the creeper into a small bottleneck (about 2-3 buildings across) then it will be easy to put a stopper in the bottleneck, and it will be easy to advance as the creeper is already falling back into the pit.

umm need i point out that if you have 6 drones then you could just bomb the area in front of your front lines to push your front lines forward and on top of that, if you have the energy to do that then you should have the energy for a better offence/defence to turn it into a win lol

Cheesecake

Yeah, but using drones in pools of creeper will kill a lot more, and they won't start to bomb empty ground as you move ahead.

Frankly, your plan doesn't make a lot of sense on a lot of the maps I've played.

The Creep Destroyer

I find that on any map with Creeper Pools, drones are very helpfull, as hes said they cause the front line creeper to retreat thus giving you space, and time.
Starcraft 2... where the creeper dies to nukes.
I use lightmage to record my scores.

That may be, but the OP's plan is resource heavy and overkill. You rarely need that much firepower and you rarely have time/energy to build that much.

Yea, that's how I always use the drones. Find the deepest pool and just bomb there. It'll work pretty good, and the creeper will withdraw from other areas too as it is flowing back to fill up the pool.

But I thought this was really trivial, didn't know it's considered some fancy strategy.

For many maps, it doesn't work, but those which have unreachable pools, it's good. If you can reach the pool, then just use mortars instead.

True that, I usually go with 1 or 2 and then spend rest of the resources elsewhere.

I find drones quite useful in capping emitters. Target a couple right on an emitter (or cluster of emitters) then fly several fully charged blasters up. Knocks the creeper down and gives you time to link to the blasters.
Power. Power! I must have more POWER!
