Starting in a pit like that looked scary but turned out not to be too bad.  I forgot about the corner spores and they almost got me when they fired.

Loved the start, as always. A turtle's dream - flat territory with a few ore deposits, surrounded by creeper. You only need about 50 beams to survive the big spore wave, which is pretty easy to manage even without expanding much. The clean-up was a bit of a slog, but the numerous & well-spaced emitters made it more enjoyable - so no complaints, really. Nicely done!
