How possible to use Spidertron:

The most simple way - Spider inject/bombs down by portion some amount of anti-creeper. And player can control movement of Spider like now.

More complex way: anti-creeper lake and Spider have to get from it some amount of anti-creeper and then walking and spread AC as in simple case. After finishing - return back to lake to take new portion of AC. Parameters of amount/portion will be setting of  map maker.
Also possible do so that non-active Spider can be activated by connection to CN and getting some energy (50/100/150). Activation necessary only one time.

Love the aesthetic of it. To me though it looks like its a creeper machine.

Anyway there are some purposes you could give it.

As the guy before mentioned it could secrete anti-creeper (but if you could script a Spidertron to just travel from A-to-B you could make them auto-suck any creeper or anti-creeper up in their path that way you have to stay out of it's path until you can shoot enough anti-creep on it's path until it starts to secrete anti-creep)

It could be a mobile Command centre (Don't know what use it'd be but it's an idea)

It could be multipurpose i.e. it can terraform, shoot spores, have a large shield (Like you could make a map with no shields allowed except for Spidertron), carry large resource packets between places or any other function. It doesn't have to do all of this at once; you could make it switch between support and attack roles... or just only have 2/3 roles.

Just some ideas; no idea how hard it'd be to make any of them work so you do you, I'd love to see what you can do with it.

One more idea about Spidertron:

Spiders, by their nature, usually weave cobwebs.
As a possibility Spidertron when moving create digitals network.  :)

I like the idea of it being multipurpose. It could charge energy or AC/ore packets when connected to the network, and then it could behave like any tower of the player's choice. It could behave like a:

guppy to transport the packets across the map. It would be a lot faster than a guppy, but it couldn't move over void. It'd be cool though if it could move over digitalis;
terp to set up defense walls in remote areas;
cannon and/or mortar and/or shield, etc.

I agree that the spidertron doesn't look all too friendly, so I find it an appealing idea to turn it into a neutral tool that could fall into either your hands or the creeper's.
A possibility is to add some charging mechanism to the spidertron, whereby if it is in creeper, it starts charging. The deeper it is in creeper, the faster it charges. If charged to 100%, it would be 'lost' to the enemy. This could work both ways, so you have the possibility to 'win' it back.

Either way, very cool idea (and design)! I'm looking forward to where this could be headed.
