This map was a fun one.  Well thought out. 

I really wanted to take the shortcut but found that it wasn't to be...

Thanks. The DMD did most of the work, I must admit.

There are a number of things on this map which might be called "the shortcut". Which one did you mean?

About one possible shortcut:

At first I thought it was possible to land a CN on the north island with the totems. Tried 4-5 times trying to stabilish one base there while having the other two CNs on the main island, but no sucess. There were two possible places to land a CN on that island, but even landing two CNs (in order to build more collectors at once), there wasn't enough land for the collectors to have a good energy production to fight that single emitter (plus some creeper from the emitter on the void).

Then, I gave up on that idea and went with all the 3 CNs on the main island, attacking the totem island with guppies, loaded sprayers, a CN and a bertha as soon as possible. After that it was only a matter of getting forge upgrades and advancing units

And... you did fill the author name :P
In the game it says "Author: Pusillanimous"
Here on the top it just says "By: "

I still think that idea was possible,

by trying to hold the creeper on the totem island for a while and sending reinforcements from the main island as soon as possible

The remote base is possible to hold, but I couldn't take the island unsupported either.
