Both Lathe ships are exceptionally shitty: the double one can't use both lathes without exposing its bridge to swarm of particles, and armored one doesn't have lasers.

Combining them gives you a triple lathe with tank 4 lasers  side  Armored or for sacrifice use in "T" mode ...
I gave you a Hammer also, first version of this map had no hammer and 2 lathe less. Took me 2  hours to get mid so I added them befor posting it.

It's not the first time I use those 2 ships I could be totaly wrong but I really think they combine good. Anyone's else opinion?

Opinion: Lathe ships are ok. I've used armored ones to get into range of mines or emitters first, then backed them a second later with tank ones (D lathes). Second lathe on tank lathe is hard to use on active enemies, but works well on "safe" threats like mire spawners, if you park it sideways.
Putting them in "T" formation makes little sense because particles normally attack you from one side. I've used something like "L" formation, with armored lathes on dangerous side. Hammer is great to have, this map would be much more frustrating without it.

I like the design of D lathe from aesthetic perspective - it feels like a worker ship, re-purposed for military use. In it's "peace time" engineer piloting it (I know it's essentially remote-controlled from lore perspective) would refill ship's tank, move to construction site, park his ship sideways to get good view of workplace from cockpit and then use his "left" and "right" lathes to do the job.

My problems with map were rough energy-starved start, overabundance of armored struc, mire spawners with lathes, but definitely not lathe ships.

I liked that benign emergent tech on this map can make HUGE difference. It's rarely that effective on exchange maps.

I really liked this map. It's probably one of my top 3 (and I've played 90% of the maps on the exchange).  What makes it so good and unique is that the layout actually encourages tactics and attacks from different sides whereas most other maps are pretty much going on a train track with your armada. I enjoyed how it progressed from being a careful stealthy mission to grab power in the beginning, to securing islands and equipment one step at a time.

I had no problems with the lathes, the doublesided one complemented the terrain nicely as you could use clever placement to shield them from harm.

@Nuhages
On a sidenote, it surprises me that your own times are usually pretty "bad" indicating that you're perhaps not an "expert-level" player,  but you are definitively a expert-level mapmaker! Please keep 'em coming! :)

@svartmes

I was bad at CW3 won't change on PF.
I'm mostly a lazy player, I don't micro-manage...

That what makes your maps stand out - I can always assume that things would go in the worst possible way, but be beatable. Keep up your great work.

I've done OK so far. Very slow, I keep taking my attack force around and around in circles nibbling bits off.

I'm uhh kinda stuck now.

My usual go to of suicide rushes on cannons won't work cause the mire spawner flips em back. Trying to get the mire spawner just gets me killed faster since I'm in range of both cannons.

Don't seem to have enough firepower to just dive into the middle.

GoodMorning

I seem to recall Omnis were useful, and that the field-moved particle streams needed managing with that. This will be easier now, because you can prioritise the spawner over the cannon with the Omnis.

I also recall with more certainty that this was a tricky one to take a corner of - but thereafter it became easier.
