Just for fun. MASSIVE spore attack. Very hard.

Clearly I've not found the sneaky trick. That despite having found the Easter Egg by chance.

No beams vs massive spores?  Sounds like an exercise in frustration!

Johnny Haywire

I first thought I could build enough beams to kill the spores so I decided to build up an enormously intense power grid. Only to realize there are no beams. On my second attempt I did manage to find the "trick" to it and came closer than I've ever come to an Alter Old score. I will give it a second run and see how it goes.

Hint: You can build up a good bit of AC before the volcano erupts.

Yeah, ok... I guess I don't have whatever it takes to give that extra .1 second boost in time  :-[

Enjoyed tackling the map though! Different, challenging and fun - Thanks for the map!

;D ;D

I still don't get it.

You have to wait for the spore tower to go off before the Nullifier pickup is available. By then you can't build near the spore tower. You can't use the singularity to draw Creeper away - everything is awash in Creeper after the tower has erupted.

My best strategy is to build the Forge near a wall where I can defend it, with minimal other construction near it (seems that the spores initially target all units).  Then I build a bunch of sprayers (no energy need to operate), a few cannon and mortar and as big reserves of ore and energy in the CN as I can get.

I also build Berthas on all the PZs, but disarm them so I can fire them as needed after the eruption.

Then I pick a defendable spot near the Forge, and go to work again, flying all my CNs and units there - I strive to preserve on Bertha to hold down the emitter under the spore tower.

But that leaves me short 7 minutes... :(

Before you start this map, I'd suggest making a grid of collectors and connecting everything - all the ore mines and totems. That way if you want to go back and start a different strategy you won't have to rebuild the entire map, which is a huge pain.

I like maps like this that allow you to build a powergrid without any immediate threat to address. It helps not to have to multitask between building and attacking  ;D

Great map!
started a map, didnt do anything to see what's gonna be after timer runs out. Saw lots of spores, but not so much, Im like oknp, beam rush and im fine.
realizing i dont have beams was like Wait WHAT?! whooaaa!
So i went with power grid all over, CNs between power zones with reactors on them, sprayers for backup, 2 lines of relays, and lots of blasters with occasional mortars.
and also formed a thick circle of charged blasters without supply around emitter as decoy and some help.

alltho all but 2 reactors were cut, i still managed to keep CNs connected and didnt lose much ground. Then its a piece of cake. Very cool map! :)
