Difficulty ramping is hard :/

surprise overwhelming creeper from nowhere at one hour in

ok.. I play slow, but thats how I like to play

terra a 10 high wall to keep creeper back

mortars to keep creeper down

dumping ac my side of the wall, fill it up as extra defence

plenty of lazer thingies for spores

few strafers hitting deep creeper further back

then busy teraforming base so it's flat...

etc. etc. etc.


play at 4 speed so it doesn't take long

pretty miffed when I get hit from no-where and wiped out instantly

I gave initial warning in the beginning. That 1 hour message. Probably should have made it more specific.

well, i cant get out there, fast enough, i did not have time to even dig in. i got the 1 hour rain before i was even getting started.

Energy Deprivation is the game.

How I did it
1. Walls buy you time. build some reactors then blasters to temporarily guard you.
2. I focused on the right side. But 1 min before the initial spores, 3 Convert AOOs drop on the emitters closest to you. This is your temporarily relief break and opportunity to push
3. Start bertha building and some strafers to hold back against the dense creeper (still "Red-zoned" in power sometimes alot)
4. I stuck random emitters under the first emitters as a difficulty ramp, first "set" of other emitters clock in at 15 min. You also get some Freeze AOOs on the 2nd row of emitters
5. 3 Snipers on the Runner nests under the totem so they don't constantly stop your emitter from shooting.
6. After you take one island, its easy to hold back the creeper. Take out the center emitters for the PZ if you want.
7. Push inwards to the Inhibitor, I didn't hit the 55 min mark myself but a Freeze and Convert AOO should drop as a saving grace if your just "that" close.
