GoodMorning

Hello all,

I've been working with the excellent Tentacle script made by Planetfall, and have extended it to produce Spores. I've also built in an option for nodes which "power" their children.

However, I seem to have inadvertently caused lag or some other eclipsing inefficiency somewhere. I'm not entirely sure where, given that there are exactly two changes referring to anything outside the script (when not spawning or dying):

  • A root variable lookup to check a network-wide "trace?" variable.
  • Looking only at the immediate parent/child Core on death.

Despite this, I am encountering lag when testing.

There is one other script running for a while; which accelerates the growth of the networks.

Does anyone know why, or what I should change?
(Test map attached)

Edit: Forget it. I had mangled a variable, and the map was creating 8-12 times more cores than were useful, resulting in huge lag.
