I got mesmerized watching the guppies do their thing and noticed that ore mines prioritize filling a guppie over filling a closer CN. I was just curious if there was a specific intent on that or was that one of those "got to pick something and this is as good as any" situations?

Do you have a save that will allow us to recreate your scenario?

We are prepared to take your word for it and make a scenario ourselves, but if you give us that scenario, it will help us notice it (and maybe convince Virgil to do something about it) more easily.

i do have a save. I don't know if it is wrong. but it is different than other actions.

That is intended behavior.  The idea is that if you have a guppy collecting ore from a network, it should get priority.  It isn't always on the network (it has transit time) so you want it loaded as fast as possible else its destination experiences more ore starvation because a guppy won't take off till full.

And besides, the only scenario (I can think of) that an ore guppy would be necessary is if a CN could not connect to an ore mine due to terrain layout or excessive resistance between the heart-throb of your presence on the map and the ore deposit(s).

like i said. just wondering if it was intentional. the action works for me.

Found this version: The ore got sent to an ore guppy first rather than be converted to AC to fill my bombers. And I had no spare AC.

Why would you even want an Ore Guppy on a network where you have a CN? They're really only useful for remote mines that aren't connected to the network.

EXACTLY!

This is why I said this earlier:

Even if it were a bug to send ore to a guppy before a CN, it is obviously not a bug worth eliminating, because the only guppies that would possibly be necessary in a network connected to CN(s) are packet guppies and AC guppies that supply distant Sprayers.

To say the least, it's not practical to build one network with ore mines and ore guppies connected to a CN and have a separate network powered by another CN (but not connected to the aforementioned one) that has either sprayers or bombers but no nearby ore deposits.
