Hey Lance -
I just took a quick look and 2 things stand out:
1 - It took you (the map maker) over 2 hours to finish this. I know that my rate of play means that a 2 hour 'game time' means at least double the 'clock time'. That is a pretty big chunk of my day.
2 - Those 2000 strength Emitters mean that nothing but Bertha's and Thor's can win the game. Both are fun pieces to use, but having Emitters of that strength pre-determine how the game is going to be played. Much better (IMO) if the players have a variety of options for HOW to win.

Just some quick thoughts and hope you take them as intended (and with a grain of salt).

If I understand you correctly less creeper/more options. Also as you may have seen my scores are always at least an hour if not more off the best but lately I have been getting better at the game myself. Also I always play on 4 times so as not to waste my day.(More time for perfecting my skills).Let the singularity be your friend with only 5000 EXP to next level totems go up pretty fast.My guess is you don't like Episode 3:Space battle then. Its funny when I first came to this site I expected hundreds of gamers to be playing such an amazing game regularly. Thanks for commenting.

I think Helper has it spot on.

I didn´t want to post originally, because I thought it just isn´t my kind of map. Which is sort of true.

I started the map, realized it´s gonna be a "30 PZB are not enough" all over again, without the space to actually build Berthas, so i stopped.

It is all fine I will create smaller scale maps in future.

If I understand you correctly less creeper/more options. Good summation - but keep in mind that is only one player's opinion.

Let the singularity be your friend with only 5000 EXP to next level totems go up pretty fast. Two of my many failings whilst playing are (1) Forgetting to 'save' in a timely manner and (2) forgetting to use the Singularity weapon. Both of which bite me on the tookus regularly. I wonder what would be involved in having a pop-up that tells you that you haven't saved in X seconds/minutes?

My guess is you don't like Episode 3:Space battle then. I posted over in that thread. For me it was a big fight that I (mostly) enjoyed playing through. I initially tried to 'backdoor' that Inhibitor, but ended up going the long route.

Its funny when I first came to this site I expected hundreds of gamers to be playing such an amazing game regularly. I think the vast majority of players never comment on the maps, and most don't Rate them. I figure that anyone doing all work to create this fun stuff deserves some honest opinions on their work (and appreciation).

I rarely save myself unless i'm taking a big risk like terraforming my whole base and repositioning everything for better space management like I had to do on this map thanks for commenting on maps it wouldn't be as fun without comments to read and criticism to help perfect my work into something better.

Very interesting.
That is much scarier looking than playing.
I got almost all the way to the end before realizing how grossly I had over-built.
I'd bet a nickel we see a sub-20 minute time before the day is over.

Balance out the emitter strength vs emitter interval.

2000 0.1 emitters are just douches.

They require thor, singularity and/or bertha to beat.

Honestly, maps in CW3 are not (so far) a matter of "can you beat map X or Y"? anymore. It is about getting the best time possible. AND having fun beating the maps.

So, go for the creative liberty, but do not feel forced to make the map "hard".

Don't make a slog just because. Instead, let your artistic desires surpass mere number crunching. Rate your map difficulty like master SPIFFEN:

I also take SPIFFEN's stand on rating maps, difficulty is subjective. Some seriously advanced players will find even the hardest of maps relatively easy.

SPIFFEN chooses to rate each map as trivial because they believe that the difficulty of the map depends on the capability of the player.[sic] *highlights not in actual post.

While I agree, I at least give my maps a relative difficulty.  A map that's hard for one is easy for a more advanced player.

And I think this is going into my sig.
Don't make a slog just because. Be like Master Mapmaker SPIFFEN:

BAD RATING: MEASUREMENT OF MAP HARDNESS.

Nominate that as quote of the day.
