Part 3 of the series. Part 1 and 2 are Maps 1867 and 1869.

This one can be challenging so a Walkthru is at http://dagongame.blogspot.ca/2013/01/spider-cave-part-3-1884.html
Might be it for a while since my Toddler decided to help me move my laptop from the desk onto the hardwood floor very rapidly. Now I have a rainbow screen! Very difficult to see anything until I get a new screen. Haha, Kids, They`re still worth it. :)

When the gateway releases all the creeper, the 5x3 cell box can be shielded off and the fields all push it into one subcell, which then overflows into anti-creeper (if you damage the spider too much that this box loses too much creeper this might not happen though).

If one is really stuck you can use anti-creeper to block the dig packets from the gateway, and open only one of the dig sites at a time toa void fighting on all the fronts at once (I didn't do this because it wasn't really necessary - my shields lasted long enough regardless).Alternatively if you want to take the really long but trivially easy method you could simply kill the spider without the conversion bomb, and the creeper from other areas will go away too (since parts of the spider are regeerated from them - killing the spider for long enough will destroy the creeper)

I tried a variety of ways to block the packets with AC (from that upper left chamber) - including putting the Maker right in front of the marked block. It appears as though the packets go right through the AC. Is that possible? The AC did block the packets from the right side chamber.

Another very clever game from PeterPower and congrats to Kithros on a great score.

When you get the conversion bomb get it over the heart of the spider and detonate it, this creates enough AC to move you ship to the bottom of the map (I already killed the head of the spider btw). Then use launchers to kill the remaining creeper.

If you're going for a good score don't grab any gems and attack the first chamber as fast as possible (I waited about 20 minutes =P), this gives you a lot more room for reactors. Don't forget to shield off (one shield and a blaster) all the chambers before opening the gateway

I added a picture of the way to block off the gateway`s packets in the walkthru, and below. Disable the MicroRifts to slow packet movement as well. I tried Kithros way to change the Creeper into AC but I never got enough density. I am impressed at the clever ways you find to beat my levels in not-intended ways however. :)

To get the overflow to work you need to destroy the reactors built there to build shields closer to the wall, and you shouldn't have any anti-creeper blocking dig packets at all (you want the gateway to dig through it ASAP). There's 20000K density of creeper in 15*9 subcells, which is 2700M creeper (the overflow is at roughly 2147M), so if you destroy more than about 500M creeper there, it will no longer be possible (keep in mind that you can destroy some of the creeper there accidentally by hitting the spider at any point in the map - and it will certainly take a lot of damage once your conversion bomb goes off so try to get it to overflow before then)

EDIT: Oh, as far as blocking the dig packets go - remember that the gateways dig packets can move through your microrifts - you may have to destroy/disable some of your microrifts to block some of its paths.

I thought this (and the spider series) was one of the best maps I've played, keeps you thinking right till the end.  Not that the thumbs up and down is a good indicator, but I think it deserves a very high rating for quality.

I got the C-bomb to the heart quickly and then moved into the resulting AC explosion but I'd like to give some of the other ways a try, will give it another go.
