Whoa guys, the times you have been putting up the last few weeks are of an astounding quality. I'd love to join you but sadly I have no time. Good to see that these CW2 games are still alive and kicking.
Behold, Nexus! Looketh skywards, for thy obliteration thence nighs, my foul enemy!

They are amazing times.  Every time I think I have a chance to catch up to one of them, someone posts a time that is minutes better.  So, I keep trying...

Tiuipuv

I wish I could be more competitive, but my times are just not very close.
What?! Why? How? Just work, you field!

Believe me, faster times are nothing more than experience and learning some of the basic tricks of playing CW2. There are lots of threads that discuss some of the techniques you can try. You should read through them and start your own thread if you want specific advice. The vast majority of the players I've met are willing to share ideas on how to play better/faster...and have more fun.

Really glad to see you join in. I think this is the most active series I have seen. 54 scores and 11 different players.

Good stuff!

SmileyCoder

I usually play a map through once, somewhat casually, to get a "feel" for each emitter. Then I start over and play it knowing roughly how tough each emitter is, and where the best entry point into a cave might be, and whether to include makers and beams, or if they are not necessary.

If you want, you can watch a video recording I have made from last weeks tournament.

There are also videos showing the start on some of the tougher maps. While the techniques might not be exactly the same as for tournaments, alot of it similar.

Main points are really, don't starve your energy supplies. Starting 10 reactors at once in the beginning is a bad idea, since it will take quite long for the first of them to finish. Only start reactors you have energy to complete, and in the start focus on energy as long as you can, and only build weapons at the last moment.
Best of luck with your game,

Grrr. I have tried 5 times now to beat mopa's time on the first map, without luck.

SmileyCoder, Why are your creeper world videos set to private?

SmileyCoder

Hi Wheatmidge. They haven't always been set to private, but I have started publishing MS access tutorials and I want to keep the Creeper world videos "clear" from my channel, as I consider the MS access tutorials more of a professional matter, where as CW is just fun and games :P

When they are private (As I understand it) it simply means you need the link to find the video, so you can't search them out, you have to get the link from where I posted it in these forums.

I can't even get close on Mission #1 and have too many pending maps in the Map Mod queue to keep trying.

If one of you guys will post a screen grab at about the 2-3 minute mark, I'd like to give it another go tomorrow.
Thanks.

Great playing to the top three guys - good stuff.

I was kinda hoping for all top scores this week, but then you and mopa just had to go and trash my dreams. Well played.

Anyway, this means it's up to mopa42 to post the next weeks tournament. I am already looking forward to it.
