Oh, I absolutely love this theme!
This will be fun i cant wait
Great theme idea, I look forward to having a go.
For those who don't have or want to use the score tool, I will post some scores now and then:
Tuesday Results
Rank | Player | Total Score |
1. | Katra | 20418* |
2. | Martin | 17960* |
3. | Wheatmidge | 11960* |
4. | Durban | 11500* |
5. | dt42 | 10780* |
* Did not finish all maps.
Firefox - even at medium difficulty - is really tricky to survive the beginning. Upside down gravity and build, creeper and lots of drones that erode to surface in just over 1 minute - almost exactly at the time the first wave of phantoms hits. Took me careful timing with my digging and building.
Firefox Medium Medium
I can not beat the "testicle".
Who is he? :o :o :o

I have to admit, I did laugh when I saw that name. :D :D ;D
However who is TEST_C and how do you get a time that low?

I concur. I managed to get a foothold, but was really slow to make any headway (thus the 22+ minutes). The creeper got so established I had all I could do to keep it at bay while I built up. I'd really like to see how the shortest times are managed.

Before the start of each map,Best to take some time to look at the map change.
The use of topographic effect and then try to test, Policy whether effective.
Then slow play or normal play, so a lot of time can be shortened.
(In order to ensure the emergence of class people of God, As far as possible, do not mistakes. ;D ;D ;))
Why did you do chrome google instead of google chrome? And why is Internet explorer marked as high complexity??? :P
So, these maps have been great but I'm wondering about some strategy. There're at least two maps where I seem to end up with creeper filling up the top/ open area of the map. How do folks handle that without wasting resources just trying to stay far enough ahead of the creep to avoid dying?
With reverse gravity I simply ignore the creeper that pools at the top of the map. It is a waste of resources trying to stop it from getting up there. It takes a very long time before the creeper pooling at the very top becomes a threat to anything. just send a launcher or two to clean it up before you finish everything else.
Thanks, but two of the maps have 0 gravity, so the creep just kind of makes its way all over. Unless I'm not getting to it fast enough, which is quite possible as my times are always crappy.

Annnnnnnd here are the final scores:
Seriously? Is "Today at 05:34:01 pm" not 6 1/2 hours before "midnight forum time"? What am I missing?
I know I'm not a threat to the winner, but I'm still playing.
One of us misunderstands something. If it's me, please explain.
perhaps in future a midday to midday week could help prevent such an occurance and prevent the contest holder from having to be up at midnight to post the scores.
this is of course dependent on the timezone of said contest holder.
just an idea
ctuna: SmileyCoder will bring up this:

I intend to post the winning scores sunday around midnight GMT.
However, SmileyCoder posted the "winning" scores at 2234 GMT, 86 minutes before midnight... not even close to the stated time. Further, since it didn't sink in the first time:
Quote from: mthw2vc on February 26, 2012, 05:07:16 PMB: If [tournament director name here] cannot close the tournament at the scheduled time, there are others that can. It is only a matter of asking nicely.
No, actually it was 25 minutes and 59 seconds before midnight GMT, not 86. I posted the scores at the last possible time available to me.
You can rest assured, I will stay out of these tournaments now. Dealing with you is simply to tiresome and frustrating, and takes all the enjoyment out of the game for me.
A later time I posted I had a method... ;)

The timestamp on your message, displayed when one tries to quote it, is 1330900441, the unix time equivalent of (gasp) "Sun, 04 Mar 2012
22:34:01 GMT." Please don't lie to me. If you are unavailable at the official closing time, there are others that can be. Here is how easy it is to resolve this issue:
1. Click on this link:
clicky (http://knucklecracker.com/forums/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=492)
2. Type this or something similar into the message box:
QuoteHello, mthw2vc. I cannot be available to close this week's 5-map tournament at the scheduled time. Would you mind doing this for me?
Thanks, SmileyCoder

For all (not just SmileyCoder), tournaments are supposed to close at midnight forum time, not midnight GMT. If we want to change them, ok, but until we do, closing them earlier than planned cuts out those of us for whom the last few hours are available. "Can't we all just get along?"
And to CJY101, thanks for the screenies.
Thanks so much for those screen shots! And, I hope SmileyCoder sticks around. I agree with the "can't we all just get along" sentiment...
