It's pretty easy if you use repulsars to hold back the creeper, and 1 or two rocket launchers to keep it from getting too big. Might want to take the repulsar tech out to make it harder.
I just made a couple of makers at 4x and 2 shields to block my escape tunnel and to stop the anti creeper going further down the tunnel then built reactors along the tunnel as i carved it out. Added a few blasters to hold back the creeper then sat back and waited and waited and waited while I slowly carved my way down to the bunkers.

I agree... speed had nothing to do with it. A few blasters and launchers and I could easily hold back the creeper... all the while letting its diggers dig out all the blocks and I just built reactors and tech where it dug out. Took awhile, but if you help dig, you can get one line down to the bottom quicker
Once I got below the second level (and had enough power) I found it faster to just dig. (I moved the LS down as I dug.) ;D
