Title: Can't patch CW2
Post by: SpikeST on November 12, 2011, 08:55:11 AM
An hour ago, I downloaded the latest patch for CW2, but i cant run the file.
I have Adobe AIR on my Computer. I reinstalled it several times and even a restart of my computer didnt work.
I have Windows 7 and i cant find an .exe file of Adobe AIR.
Does someone know a solution for this problem?

When you say "can't run the file" what do you mean? Do you get any Windows error messages?

I mean that I dont have any program which can run this file.
When I run the file I get a window which says that there is no program on this computer which can run this file.
And in the list of programs I cant find any .exe of Adobe AIR.
Even with the search I cant find any file called Air or smthng like that.
But I installed Adobe AIR. Reinstall and restart dont work.

When Adobe AIR is installed, files of ".air" extension should be associated with it.  Just double clicking the ".air" file should work (all of this assumes you are on windows).  You must also be logged in as an administrator.

You can go to "Add or Remove Programs" and verify the Adobe Air is installed.
The file association that should have been created for .air files is to "Adobe AIR Application Installer".  That lives in a location like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe AIR\Versions\1.0\Adobe AIR Application Installer.exe"

Your mileage will vary depending on the version of windows you are running.  For instance, it will just be "c:\Program Files" if you are on 32 bit windows.

Interesting ...
There is no folder called Program Files in c:\, only programData. Never recognized it.
But if I write c:\Program Files in the adress bar manually, I can enter the folder.
Thats strange ...
And no, the folder isnt invisible. I turned it off, so i can see invisible folder, files and so on.

Now i could patch CW2, thx for the help.
