If you type a < it will cutt the message at that part and submitt only the first part...

It probably filters HTML out and the < is the start of HTML tags?  THen it is not an "error" as such.

I don't know. Many comment systems filters out HTML. My guess was that it was filtering out the HTML. But hey, feel free to experiment on a map. :)

Edit: I just tried inserting some simple <i> </i> tags into a comment and it simply removed them. So my guess is that if you do this in a comment, it will all disappear.

I think < is the preferred sign for "less than."

Too bad, but probably better for security reasons.
