I tried numerous approaches and found only one that worked.
curious, whether you did it the same way....

collect gems, using good timing - maybe get the cheaper gems 1st
establish base within the creeper windfall area upper quarter
used repulsors to keep area safe
build up army
move downward, pushing back all creeper. building additional reactors on liberated terrain, but leave the shells containing creeper intact.
kill the lowermost emitters with big army
move back up and clean out pockets one by one with ease.

Well, what I did was I took the newbie approach to solving the map. I allowed the terrain at the bottom to burst and cover the entirety of the map and then I slowly took over the entire map and then went back to the asteroids with creeper and destroyed them.

I wanted to make sure the map was beatable in that regard so that newbies could have a chance of winning this map as well.

I took the "Not noobie" way out by:

Spoiler
dealing with the Creeper before it exploded out everywhere.  ;)

Overall Kamron, I think the map was a ton
of fun to play, however at first I thought
you may have submitted the wrong version
of the map because there is only fields
around the asteroid closest to your starting
position. Was this intentional?

Thanks for the map Kam! I'll be looking for
more.  ;)

Yeah, I figured I'd just use it on that one asteroid. There will be more space travelling maps in the future, each one progressing in difficulty and the advancement of the techniques used on it.

So far I like this series.

This is definitely a map where it pays to be aggressive early.
Spoiler
Start LS moving towards the bottom, snag those crystals you can without opening a pool, and start building reactors. Then contain the pool with decaying terrain (shields and weapons) while continuing to build. Once those two emitters are nullified the other pools are easy.

Question on the scoring -
If you collect all of the gems and have a lower finishing time, how can your 'score' be lower than others who took longer to finish?

Anyone have a link to the discussion of scoring in CW2?
Thanks,
