If you have not yet joined the Armies of the Creeper Nation, today is the final day of the Kongregate monthly contest. Help show the world that the Creeper Nation is strong. The final battle is today!
Vote 5 stars:

We can do it! So far second place! Go Virgil
GO!!! :)
I can't believe that the current "first place"
game is that union league game. In my
opinion the King's League deserves a better
spot than that one, and Creeper World
above the King's League. ;)
Can you see how many votes each game has?
The Last Stand: Union City rating: 4.45 (13,630 votes)
Creeper World: User Space rating: 4.40 (18,217 votes)
Diamond Hollow II rating: 4.39 (18,883 votes)
The King's League rating: 4.38 (18,457 votes)
......close!
Participation for this monthly competition ends today, but I think the voting will last until Monday, which probably means the current #1 will lose some rating points.
The month has ended and we came 2nd, nice job virgil
its not done yet
It is, virgil ended on a 3rd.
http://www.kongregate.com/contests
that means 1400$(not counting ad revnue), nice payout :D
Wait what?
Coinbox Hero (http://www.kongregate.com/games/ArmorGames/coinbox-hero) 2nd place with Avg: 4.40 of 1,929 ratings
16,452 plays
Creeper World: US (http://www.kongregate.com/games/whiteboardwar/creeper-world-user-space) 3rd place with Avg: 4.40 of 19,051 ratings
467,039 plays
This is just wrong.

Only Krongregate would do that.
Voting still isn't over, even if Kongregate may lead you to believe otherwise...

Any game first published during September is eligible for our monthly contest. Voting will last through October 3rd, 2011,
From the second paragraph on
this (http://www.kongregate.com/contests) page. Entries aren't being accepted anymore, but votes are.
Correct.... voting continues till tomorrow night. So this contest still isn't over!
No more games could be submitted after Sept 30, but the voting is still moving things around. Coinbox Hero must have gotten in right before the submission deadline, but according to the rules it still counts for Sept... and voting won't close till Monday night.
I dont think cw us can win anymore with a .5 difference
except if the 1st has around 2k votes didnt check
Maybe, but second place is better than third (apart from the prize money).
Yeah, there are big differences between each finishing place.... So I'd definitely rather finish higher, even if 1st place is statistically unlikely. This was a really crazy and competitive month for games as well. The whole list of top games are all really good and top notch.

If it was any other month but September...there have been many months with some pretty weak games contending. But, yes...there were a number of good games. It's too bad there was no way to know what other games would have been submitted for September beforehand. -sigh- I really want this game to win.
CW:US back at the 2nd spot! 8)
Yep.... I hope she holds on for another 12 hours... the end is in sight!
Any one know what spot we won. I can't seem to fin the September results.
I'm hoping it was at least 2nd... that's where it was with about 5 hours to go. I can't find last month's results anywhere either. Hopefully they will post a news item later today (they are pacific time so it's a bit early for them yet).
So, did you hear anything from Kong? I'd expect them to have contacted you by now....
Anyone bothering (Virgil?), check out http://www.kongregate.com/contests/303/rules
If I saw correctly, CW:US ended up second. Haven't found that back yet, though.
Just above the prize money it says:
QuoteThe potential prize winners will be chosen and will be notified on or about October 5, 2011. The potential prize winners will be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release and an affidavit that their entry is unique within 7 days of attempted notice or forfeit prize.
And at the bottom:
QuoteWinners List: For a copy of the winners list, available after October 6, 2011, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Contest Winners' List, c/o Kongregate, Inc. 2 Shaw Alley, 4th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94105 by December 31, 2011.
Hurray for the internet! :-\
Still no news? :o
Well, I started wondering what the outcome was so I sent them a support message. I never heard anything back (no email, no response at all)... but about 10 minutes after I sent the support message I got a paypal money transfer. What an amazing coincidence :)
From that I can deduce a second place finish! I really couldn't be happier with this as at some points it was in 4th place. It climbed up in the last few days and made it to second place which was just awesome and an amazing outcome given the other games that were maneuvering.
Congrats!

They seem to promote the contest heavily, but play their cards close to their chest when it comes to announcing the winners... I'm sure that is just a perspective and not a deliberate way for them to operate.
Congratulations! 8)
Second place indeed isn't bad at all, although I'm sure CW:T will pick up the gold medal a few months from now.
Too bad you have to deduce your rank from the prize money, but at least you have another 'title' now to advertise with. :)
Hurrah! Congratulations Virgil! You deserve it! ;)
*throws confetti*
Congrats! I wish we could find out how close it was between 1st and 2nd...

Yep, last time I checked (a few hours before closing), the ratings were:
1. 4.46
2. 4.40 (CW:US)
3. 4.39
4. 4.38
CW:US has managed to 'creep' up to 4.41 currently. Guess it's like wine or cheese...
This is a good thing, since the higher the rank the more it gets played since it is nearer the top of the strategy game list. Believe it or not, but it still got played over 7000 times just on Kongregate yesterday.
Wow. Well, as long as it's near the top. It sucks you didn't take 1st place but, 2nd is great. Hopefully, it stays at the top 5 to help gain more exposure for the full versions.
