The next installment in my old foes series, sorry it took so long, this one's a doozey! lots of adjustments had to be made to get it to where it is... and the start sucks! Good luck, you know the drill, and if you don't play the other maps in the series first! check comments for more.

Sorry I kep lt you guys waiting, I hope it was worth it!! Like I said, the beginning's a pain! First, keep your city safe, then, keep the other city safe, then worry about the danger spores... It goes 3, 4, 5. Then every 2 minutes you get 5. Once again, the survivors of the other city are under an artifact on a raised platform... Though this time, when the other city landed, the ground underneath then gave out. So there's a small pit around the survivors. Good luck! Feel free to message me with any thoughts, comments, questions, praise, complaints, or concerns. (praise is of course, most appreciated. XD)

Ya, my score really stunk just because I was messing around with it. I ended up capping every emitter before getting the totems.

Yup, that was a fun one, but for some reason I didn't build any drones until I was over half way through.  Duh!  And I thought the spores were going to start with 5, so overbuilt sams early on...

Still, that was a fun map :)

I think the emitters to the left and right of the survival pod were a lil weak, I don't think it would die for quite a while.

At least you can connect to and keep the city alive this time LOL

Hehe... Once again, the way you did it, the text in this mission makes no sense.
EDIT: btw, how exactly did you guys get the mortars on the left and right up fast enough??
Spoiler
I ended up making the mortar on the left attatched to my second collector, and my mortar on the right connected to my third collector. After that, I moved them, let them get a few shots off, then floated them around while the creeper pulled back.

The best I've been able to manage is saving some of the weapons from the city (with partial ammo load) and hold on for 5 or 6 minutes before I get overrun.  ::) I'm about to delete this as unwinnable; what's the trick?

one trick is to
Spoiler
build one blaster, and fly the OC right by the lost city once a few SAMS die and make room. There's JUST enough space to the right of it.... either that, or you can do what I did and get mortars up, it takes a lot of precision though.

I never saw enough space to land until the creeper got too deep. (I did a touch and hover in the center of the pit to snag the city weapons.)

I tried it... idk how you get started from the side, honestly. This is a map I made ages ago, I forget all the tricks to it. But I did manage to get started normally though. When you do it like this, it's a bit harder to get the artifact... but easier to start. Just use mortars to keep the pits down, build reactors, and a drone to keep the creeper off of the survival pod. And, also, the middle pit will only stay down for so long.

This is a really tough map! I cannot figure out how to keep the creeper back at the start. I've read the comments but it is impossible. Did you tweek this lately to make it more difficult or something?

This is what I did many months ago....

Spoiler
Pause the game. Turn off the green and red packets. Create a collector that reaches the mortars and set OC to fly to the center. Unpause. In the center you will need to hover until that collector is made and than you will have to touch down for a second. This will allow you to then move the SAMs to the top of the screen. Don't foget to turn on the red packets and disable the mortars... at least initially

BTW, I set OC down on the right side

I wont say more so that you can enjoy this map  ;)

I seem to be the only one who kept OC where it was to beat this map.

I'm thinking about making videos for this series, a lot of people have had trouble with nearly all of these maps.

That would be cool... I have tinkered a little with making videos, but haven't quite yet.

I stand corrected. Thanks for the input saying the map could not be changed. It challenged me to keep on going and I learned something! Now I think this is an excellent and well balanced map that is a great challenge--now gonna test my skills on number 6.

glad you like it! Have you beaten 1-4 yet? And be warned... They get harder as they go on. Though I misbalanced number 7 by raising the emitters.
