Customizable HotkeysBugs: Pause
- Can build buildings on creeper - Should NOT be able to do
- Can move buildings on creeper - KEEP it, it's perfect as it is
- When a building is destroyed (by the user), it retains the green ring until the game is unpaused
- If already paused and something else pops up and is clicked, game unpauses itself (Ex. I paused the game. I open the upgrades menu. I close it. The game unpauses, however I want it to remain paused for me to do other things as well.)
Suggestion: Towers - Certain modes, etc
- Blaster - Should be able to toggle between [Shallowest|Deepest] and [Closest|Farthest].
- Mortar - Should be able to toggle between [Closest|Farthest] and a slider [0|1|2|3|4] (automatically set at 0 for default) which determines the minimum level of slime to shoot at and not to shoot until that level is within range.
- Drone - Should be able to toggle between [Manual|Automatic] while manual is what it currently is at (and default) while the automatic simply means that the drone will keep going back to the same spot until the user re-targets (Which the user should be able to do in mid-flight.
- Thor - A bit overpowered, even though it's only in one mission, but possibly tune it down for future campaign missions
Suggestion: Replay SystemIt may seem like an impossible thing, but since the game is restricted to the 30 frames per second, actions can easily be recorded and replayed using a replay file and a replay player. The only actions needed to be recorded are basically the builds and moves, and that's it, so it should be a relatively small file.
Suggestion: Shield Defensive TowerI really would like something as specified by superzip in his thread (http://knucklecracker.com/forums/index.php?topic=174.0).
The stats could be:
25-30 energy to build.
Orange or Yellow Square or Pentagon.
Has a force field around it which is 2x 2x basic squares added on to it. Could be animated with an alpha transparency glow.
It would zap any creeper touching within that area.Bug: Cut off Creeper
When a certain amount of creeper has been cut off from its emitter's constant supply, usually it doesn't fade away on its own if it's big enough.
This makes it required to move another blaster somewhere in the middle of it, until it is small enough it doesn't keep self-sustaining itself magically.
Maybe this was on purpose, maybe not, but I don't see the logical reasoning behind it.Suggestion: Map Events - for the map maker
It would be certainly be a challenge to do this and take some time, but it's completely possible and could add a whole 'nother level of excitement to the game if used properly on certain maps.
TheBuilder certainly has the right idea with his thread (http://knucklecracker.com/forums/index.php?topic=476.0).
Suggestion: Drag Selection - for easier selections
Maybe not select multiple towers (at least for now), but it would select the closest tower (or artifact) within the enclosed box.
Suggestion: Select Multiple TowersFor later, you should be able to select multiple towers together and deactivate them or disarm them or vice-versa.
Suggestion: Manual TargetingTowers should be able to be manually targeted to a certain specified location AND ONLY shoot if there is creeper there.
Suggestion: Fast Forward - for better analyzing gameplay
Since the game has a set framerate, it's entirely possible to play the frames faster when a fast forward mode is initiated (or button held down).

Edit: I do realize there are already hotkeys for the towers, except that they are the number keys, and it would be easier to reach and remember the ones I posted above.[/list]
just wonderin, did u bother to read through the entire shields thread that was started by superzip?
What about playing the whole game ,
and learn it well ,
before suggesting what kind of short cut keys to be used .
The most used item should have the most obvius short cut key to build ,
before some other item/building gets it .

Yes, but I have my own take on it.

I have beat the game and several custom maps. I am simply considering the most obvious positions for shortcuts that will help out experienced RTS fans. If by anything for what you're telling me, then the hotkeys should just simply be able to be customizable in the options menu.

an explanation about evaporation has been asked for before and it will be asked for again but the whole evaporating creeper thing can be explained in a monster post by Virgil in this thread http://knucklecracker.com/forums/index.php?topic=51.0 (http://knucklecracker.com/forums/index.php?topic=51.0)
also, dont post these ideas as if they're your own, most if not all of these have been suggested elsewhere also "having your own take" on and idea, is not a reasonable explanation to make a new thread for it, it should be discussed in that thread
Wow, lighten up on the guy.. He put a lot of time in writing up suggestions. If you don't like it, keep quiet.

He's not the only one to either "take time" to write up a bunch of old/rehashed suggestions; post something stupid; or think they can tell the rest of the community what to do or how to behave.

that implies he thought up fresh suggestions, most of what i see can be found on the first page of the suggestions forum

Thanks, but I wouldn't mind
some constructive criticism, I'd like to be able to see how other people would see how they might want one of these ideas to look like.

I had never said that I claimed anyone of those specific ideas, so
please read my whole post above before commenting, that way it would enable you to see my take on this.

I'm very curious as to how this is possible, because above I have presented a collaborated LIST of ideas and suggestions, and not actions or commands.
i'm well aware of that and i'm saying dont do it, if you think that's wrong i'm sure builder will be able to elaborate
umm im thuroly confused now, and i think im just going to stay out of this discussions way

Aurzel thinks that I'm stealing your idea by linking to your topic and mentioning your name about it.
I can see why you are confused now :)
thats not wat im confused about, i would have been mad if u would have said teh idea and NOT said were u got it.
Wat i am confused about is wat im supposed to elaborate on.
that's not what i said actually, i referenced builder because when he first came here here made several threads which were culminations of other peoples ideas, which is why i asked him to elaborate
ummm, okay, i c now.
he wants me to say that when u throw together ideas from other people along with ur own ideas, be careful how u do that and how u word it.
(EDIT, after next post) Umm and that too,
actually more like, dont do it its just annoying

I've added a couple seemingly original ideas ffs.
Also who's more annoying, the annoying person or the person annoying the annoying person :P
i'd go for the annoying person hands down
okay u 2, calm down now, we dont need any unessicary confilct, (man that sounds lame)

May I ask you then, if you are with or against the posts that are not on-topic?
Oh yeah and the answer to the riddle is the rhetorical value of the follower ;P
Well anyways I'd like to end the argument by stating the obvious
"What's with the hate?" -
Your point:

I'd prefer your response to my PM or my hotmail (or MSN): shadow13l@hotmail.com
Otherwise please indicate which of my ideas you think are bad and which ones you think are good, along with your thoughts and reasoning on the subject. And feel free to ignore any of the ideas that "I stole".
Thanks

nah i'm good, i have no desire to get into a debate or argument, as for your idea on the hotkeys i think that'd be handy since the 1-0 selection isnt very intuitive
