J said he had a good starting map, so if it's posted here within 24 hours, we'll use it

otherwise we'll start with a blank map

So, here is my map. 4 stripes, a lot of circles and 5 emiters. No title, intro text, totems, artifacts, survival pods and upgrades.
It's possible to cap 3 emitters in 30:00.

sorry, i've just been doing other stuff...

i made the totems, some starting text, upgrades, and a lot of stuff i don't remember, oh, and the creeper is white and the mist is right for white so don't change it.  i did not test it but it should actally be easier then what it was before.

yes, that would be nice.  But maybe find a differant background since some of the circles are going to be green.

The background isn't ready yet but here is the edited .cwm file.

hey, uhh... J?  i don't think we should have all the tech out.  if you look at previous community maps people apparintly didn't like it.  maybe just the drone, since thats a more powerful one.

I'm sorry, I've been really busy cleaning the house up for Christmas and have been trying to finish my own series of maps before the end of the year, and so I have not had any time to help out with the community map, but I'm going to try and do something on it tonight.

in the graphics that middle stripe needs to contrast the other colors more.  i'll post an updated map soon, but i can't do graphics...

ok.... there are many things wrong...  for one, the graphics can't be made with the lines around them, those get added in the actual editor.  second, 4.061 has fuzzy graphics, so we need to fix that.  i fixed some stuff in this ed.  i just need to go now so i'll do some more changes later.

Map #4000 is close , so why not wait for that =)
I think it would be nice if the community map got accepted as the #4000 map .
( Map acceptors should notice this , so it does . )

I can post an map im working on right now ,
that im giving the first test right now , but dont have time to finnish today .
So if someone wanna give it an score , they are welcome to do so =)

Hmmm.. KILLER-XXX reported a similar problem a while back. Can you please attach the file to a post here and someone can look at it?

Well doh!. The file upload parses wrong and the . in the file name is parsed to be the delimiter for the file type. so it passes 08.cwm as file type and 4 as filename.

I think this might even be a PHP-related bug, since usually those variables are already parses when the application gets it.

I'll alert Virgil to this and he can take a look.

It looks like the problem is actually in the javascript validation on the upload page.  If you go to the uploadmap.php page and then view source, you'll see a check_extension javascript function that is responsible for poping up that error dialog.  Looks like it uses a regex to try to determine the extension.

That is the error precisely. There can be no periods in the file name portion.

So 4.08.cwm is not valid.

But 4dot08.cwm is valid.

This is an mistake in the Javascript code on the web page that manages the file upload.
