this is my very first PAC map. Many thanks to Rennervate / AlexX for the PAC files, and for information on how to use them. Thanks to Mr. builder17 for useful tips. Map is super easy, but after all, it's my first go at it! I'd appreciate your feedback in the forums... #PAC #Play As Creeper

Loved it Martin, great start with some thinking to do and an interesting map layout suggesting some alternative strategies may be required. Wouldn't expect anything less! I was expecting to have to slowly conquer each smaller island before the big one.
Unfortunately the main island isn't guarded very well and can be toppled before any of the other islands. You can cut the link to the top right island and then the bottom island has a power problem. Still very much fun but covering the main island with AC and more power would've made it a bit more of a battle.

2 switching spore tower and emitter places (spore needs to fly left side because of beams)
3 spore to keep single relay powering all cannons and beams out of order
4 extending digitalis to next 3 powerzones, built spores
5 spores to disable/destroy forge
6 extending digitalis to top right island
7 overwhelm everything with my newly achieved emitter power

thanks for playing and kind feedback. Could you elaborate on the start? And yes, I absolutely agree that the last island is too weak.

Very nice map, I had a lot of fun.
Because I can't play these pac-maps well, the main island wasn't too easy for me.
As I said, I really liked the map and had fun.

So I must be the idiot in the room. I can't seem to get started here. I've "almost" used my starting spore tower to create enough digitalis to connect to the starting emitter, but I can't seem to finish bridging the gap because of how much anticreeper I'm getting drowned in. I've hit a point of diminishing returns, where the amount of creeper that survives the spore impact is smaller than the amount of anticreeper that comes flooding through immediately in response. And since the spores die immediately when launched, I can only seem to have them land directly on top of the spore tower, nowhere else. What am I missing???
Sorry, one of my first PAC maps, and I'm probably making some kind of newbie error, but I'll be blessed if I can figure out what...

You have to try to build the spore tower somewhere else, outside reach of the beams

You can hit 'T' in the digitalis tool to remove digitalis, dumping its creeper into the void.

Yep, that was the thing I did not know! Once I learned that, it all fell into place!
I'd managed to get within two pixels of connecting the digitalis using my near useless spore system, somehow, so I'm weirdly proud of that. In a "too dumb to quit, so I made it almost work" kind of way.

Great map, and I learned a lot conquering it. Thanks for an enjoyable afternoon, Martin!

And thank you so much for the tip, AS! Martin had messaged me the same thing this afternoon, but I'm glad there's something on the main thread for any other hapless PAC newbies who stumble across this.

Yes! Just stumbled upon this map by accident as I was trying to find information about a PAC-10 american football player named Alex.

Is there another version of this out there? It seemed pretty familiar. In any case, very enjoyable.

Fun fact: You only need 18 spore towers to overwhelm the PZ beams once the top island's power is cut. You might even be able to get by with fewer than that, but the beams slowly depleted their power over the course of about 20 minutes of game-time. It was fun to watch the enemy begin to panic as they helplessly watched their inevitable doom slowly but relentlessly flowing toward them like blue lava.

Thanks for not making this PAC impossible! Love it!

This map was my first experience with PAC and i am hooked!
Didn't understand what i had to do in the beginning. Ended up destroying digitalis to spawn small pockets of creeper that i could use to create more digitalis. Only figured i needed to build a spore launcher by the time i connected to the second building. But after that it was like solving a puzzle. Best CW levels are puzzle ones :)

The constant explosion sounds of the buildings being placed is a bit annoying, but turning off the sound helps.
Also i am not sure if the command center escaping should be followed by a win condition or not. Might be the troubles of this "gamemode", which is fair :)

Nice! There are a lot of good PAC maps out there - just do a search and you'll find a bunch of them. =)
