Title: Terrain lvl colors .
Post by: SPIFFEN on August 19, 2010, 09:53:38 AM
There is an color menu for Creeper and Energy zone ,
could this be added to each terrain lvl as well ?

So we can choose an color for each terrain lvl ,
like lvl 0 has black , lvl 1 has blue , lvl 2 has green and so on .

Then we dont need to use custom image and/or other programs to change the look of the map .

You can easily change that in 10min, change all lvl brightnesses to 2, edges to 1, upload to cw, take a screenshot, open that in paint, paint away OC, use the fill in tool for each lvl, save and use as a custom background, voilĂ .

Edit: You don't need to yell Spif, I heard you the first time  :P
It's just everybody has paint, and (I just timed it for a map of mine) takes 4min 32sec so it doesn't compare to all the work Virgill might have to put in changing this.

I think in most cases you don't want the colors to be that different, because the map will really become unplayable. Even when I used only 2 colors in the past I found it very hard to select convenient colors for the collector projection and the creeper so you'd still see what you're doing.

It's more likely that you'd like to apply different textures to the various terrain levels or sections of the map and adjust the colors of them to match each other. For this you'll need a different program anyway.
