Go on, make 'em a bit easier! you know you want to.... Just a few less spores please. DL 51, scores 2. Or give us a clue how to beat your maps :-) I'm not clever enough
Thanks for commenting and playing,
I just uploaded a simpler version...
Alex, here's my 2 cents worth. I love all the creativity, thought, and effort that go into your maps. However, I must say that spore towers that fire every 10 seconds, especially when you don't know this in advance, feels unfair to the player. Especially in a scenario like this one where PZs, aether, and real estate to build energy are at such a premium.
Hey Alex, really appreciate you making the easier version, I could complete that one! a good tough slog. I'd really love to know how you go about beating this one though. I thought I was making an OK start on it taking out some of easier remote spore towers that weren't covered by AD whilst gaining a bit more aether but just got overwhelmed by all the spores and lack of energy in the end.
I must be missing something in my gameplay (and I've been playing all the creeper worlds like for ever). Few screenshots for us dummies?
thanks again though!
Hi Alex, I found this a really fun map - usually I find yours way to fiddly and long!
I found the trick on this map was to try and take the small "+" island just to the northwest of the start area first. Then it's easy to use nullifiers on PZs to expand along the paths etc.
Spoiler
charge up 4 cannons, drop them on the +, followed by 4 sprayers at full charge, and destroy them on the +. Then you can get a relay there and build a nullifier as fast as possible - keep a cannon there to keep the emitter in check, and possibly drop another couple of full sprayers on the + while the nullifier is building.
Good luck!
I will say though, that the last areas were hard, usually mortars on PZs work a treat, but the bugs are too strong here for that!
An update to my earlier comment. I thought this map had great potential, so I replayed it and was able to complete it. Fortunately, I had saved a game about 11 minutes in, so I didn't have to start from the very beginning.
Spoiler
After securing the starting area, I built probably 7 or 8 guppies and attacked the small square that is in the Middle East/west and about a quarter of the way up from the bottom, with 4 aether spots and 2 spore towers. I flew guppies to that spot, having them depart 10 or 15 seconds after each other. They will charge the AC emitting mound in that area. You have to keep bringing them back before they die, and then resend them. The aether starts right away, but it has to work through a lot of creep. Eventually you'll have an area of AC and can use your guppies to power an attack back toward the starting point. I'm not sure if this is better than Weasee's approach or not. His time is a little better than mine. The advantage to his approach is you are attacking much closer to the base. The advantage to my approach is you eliminate two spore towers (and I think they are a couple of the fast firing variety), and you get two PZs instead of one, and also 40 aether for the forge.

Here's one way to approach it, note that I knocked out my first emitter by minute 11.

Strafers are pretty key in a lot of Alexx's maps, three strafers attacking at the same time can reliably take out a line of digitalis that is 3 units wide.

Way too tough for me. Waiting a bit to get move speed, build speed and packet speed looked like it might be enough to let me take that cross but it's beyond the beam coverage. Too tough for me.
Thank you for your detailed descriptions of how you played the map and for your comments. I don't have any detailed answers at the moment because this covid-brain-fog is making me so stupid.

Oh no! Hope you recover completely and swiftly!
Hangwash has the best idea, there are at least 4 advanced bases that can be used in this way including top middle and bottom left.
Hope you feel better soon Alex!
Thanks for your suggestions all on how to beat this map. Must admit never thought of landing guppies in creep to power the pyramid things, great idea. Will give it another go
Wow Alex! Looks like you're being productive despite (or because of?) Covid. 6 new maps?!?! Thanks!

Never thought of it, either. I've landed many a guppy in creep to power a totem, but never thought of a pyramid.
Thanks for the get well wishes... slowly getting better
