If a totem starts spinning and never stops... are we dreaming?

Totems spin when powered up and stop under two conditions - one when they lose power and the other when OC opened the rift.
In that case the totem turns gray.
It might be that you hit a map that has not been completed.
Post the name/link to the map or if it is your own map, post it as an attachment here.
Something tells me that this is more of an Inception reference. . .
