I didn't build anything first. Just killed all the enemy towers before I did anything else

Liked it very much too.
Good start and then quite a bit of fine tuning to survive and then conqueer 4 axis to reach the sides of the map.

The faster way:

Bring one cannon back to the central island and start clearing, build a collector then another cannon. You can take the central island very quickly. You want to get to a point where 4 mortors are your main defense. Then go top left and bottom right using the CN as a bridging unit.

I looked all over the damn place for that 'one cannon' to 'bring back' and couldn't find it.

Then I figured that you wanted me to Siphon one of the family jewels, build a Cannon, then 'bring it back' to the center.
Two countries separated by a common language.
;)

I couldn't make it work with just one Cannon. Used both jewels for two Cannons and am starting to build out my base.

Double X does make you work for your supper.
Fun so far.

D0 - am I going to be floating this CN for the whole game?
All things considered, floating CN's is not my favorite activity.
(It interferes with my beer drinking.)

No only from time to time!

One cannon works but you need to then build a second bake at base and then float the Cn just before it dies

You don't need to float again but the alternative is a hard battle straight out along one of the thin paths and thats a nightmare!

Thats' exactly what I did and it worked perfectly well with some small terping and fine tuning
I did it simultaneously in the 4 directions and reached a decent time

Thanks for the feedback.
I'm going to give this one a rest for a while.
When I read "Then go top left and bottom right using the CN as a bridging unit." - I thought you meant attack on the diagonal (with floating CN).
I think I have a good early game save and will try it again.

A bit o' wisdom..."Infantry Simple" means you use pictures, not words.

I did mean the diagnol and I meant top right and bottom left! Oops! It is not a lot of floating, just a nullifier or 4. You Could float all 4 corners for an even better time as the PZs from the beams are very handy!
