CPRL and i don't do that either... but there is a cheat way to use scripts!

if you like a maps scripts, make a note of its number, (this one is #9881) then go to the folder called

C:\Users\{your-username}\Documents\creeperworld3\colonialspace\maps

then find the map folder and copy the file with just the maps name

9881.cw3 (in this example)

but not the ones with a "9881-auto.cw3" or any numbers like "9881-1.cw3" (unless you want a particular saved game... i dunno why you would want that)

then paste that map onto the desktop temporarily and rename it "save.cw3" all lowercase.

then open CW3 and start editing a new map as normal, the size is not really important now though (as you can resize in the editor, thanks again for that V!  top games dev moves there for sure) but name it as you please.

then leave the editor and find the folder for the new map in

C:\Users\{your-username}\Documents\creeperworld3\WorldEditor

and replace the "save.cw3" file with the one you renamed and left on the desktop.

when you open the editor you will have that map you like with all the scripts ready to go and attached to units (sometimes hard to see ones with high transparency that the player will not see in the game), so be careful what you delete.

you can resize, edit the terrain, edit the units (again sometimes needing to be careful of the script holding ones), change the terrain colour scheme and generally make the map yours!

i especially like the "Pyramids" scripts and units that V had in a mission, which is why i "borrowed" them and have made 8 Pyramids maps myself, and i am always up for reusing other peoples scripts.

just try to give credit to the script writer (if you can work out who it was) in an in game message to be nice perhaps.

and keep on making maps!
