I didn't see any mention of it in the initial message, but you can combine the "Formation Move" command with Bombers/AC Bombers and the "Line Command" as you called it in the message. This causes the target markers for each selected plane to spread out evenly, allowing you to designate a large area for the group of planes to carpet bomb, with each plane having their own strip of the area to handle.

Yeah sorry but I don't get how that works myself, I can only put in information I know myself :P

Since this is a tutorial, I'd like to add that airports are really only viable when there is sufficient energy on hand to power them.  Regular bombers require about 50 spare energy/sec and AC bombers take a ton of spare AC.  In general, the only reason to build AC bombers is if sprayers aren't available and you need AC somewhere, which is rare.

Without any miners or the ERN portal, I generally won't build an airport.  The exception to that rule of thumb is mesh - regular bombers are great at knocking out mesh.  This map didn't supply sufficient energy so I ended up running at 4x at one point because there was literally nothing to do for several minutes.  At least one ERN'ed miner and ERN portal energy collection are almost prerequisites for airports since soylent alone doesn't usually cut it.  Also, spare ERNs, if any, can be placed on bombers.
