PH,
Another find mess you got me in to (who said that?).
Great fun with only 4 re-starts, 6 go-backs, and 14 "oops" (or words to that effect).
Thanks for the map. A real eye-opener today.
H
15 restarts in and I have decided this is the best start. That's as far as I have got so far! Aim is top left and bottom right bases, top left can supply a couple of cannons to support bottom right. Very tricky start!
Also tried landing a CN and taking out the sleeping 400 emitter (there are 6 starting positions for the CN!)
Big D,
This is one of those maps that just dares you to come back for one more try.
Let me know if you want a spoiler/early screenshot.

Helper!!!!!
What is going on here... :)
NO Helps Helper! NO!!! I might have finally gotten the D. Probably not, but NO!!!
:)
i completely forgot i could have more than one base...i started top left, picked up the gift, everything was going fine, got close actually, then everything went red as power went out haha...poor management

ROTFL!
I do know that feeling of FINALLY beating one of Mr. D's scores...but only once so far.
H
This is one of those maps that demands a lot of restarts, I would guess about 50 restart/reloads just to get the first minute or so correct! Was it worth over an hour of play to get a 4 minute time? Hell yeah ;D
Finally had the bottom right and top left bases secure and firing those totems, took out the inhibitor from the left (pz from emitter to top left) and ran into the same issue as Riskbreaker just as I was about to collect the last pick up. Nearly gave it up for another day!!
Grrrrrrr D :)

Red rag to a bull ;) ;D
I knew you'd get there, but not that quick!

Grrrrrrr D :)
This was a huge challenge to play quickly PH, it was a great map. Having numerous starting postions added to the complexity really well. The best maps for me have numerous options, liner path levels are quite boring.
Getting very geeky now but sometimes with a map you just know there is a crux or a tipping point and if you can just get to that point you can get a really good time. This screenshot is just before the moment on this map. Keeping the bottom right was 95% of the challenge but was important for the forge upgrades and prevented a turtle approach.
I couldn't figure out what you guys were talking about.
"Clearly" you were attacking from the wrong direction (oops!).
Now I'm just going to have to modify my attack and give it another go.
It won't be any fun ;) but I'll just have to do it.
BTW - here is my start. I floated a CN to build the Siphon, then built Cannons and Mortars to protect my Relays up to the top right.
For a while there, it was a pretty good technique.
For a while.
Fun stuff!
H
Brilliant idea. But why only float one CN??? ;)
Inspired thinking there H!
Edit - no need to land a CN or build any reactors!
D - you got it! Thanks.
I finally read through the posts enough to figure out what you were talking about.
I "almost" pulled it off, but crashed and burned just after this save.
No worries though, I'll jump back in after a brain break.
One of PH's better games, for sure.
Maximum aggresion H! If there is a space on the map it must have a cannon, a relay or a nulifier in it!
Good scoop.
Working it.
H
Very satisfied with this run through, even though I ended up in next to last place.
Right after this I connected the two top bases and kept the 3rd CN floating and setting down occasionally. (No, I don't know why.)
Great way to spend a lazy sunny afternoon.
Thanks for all the advice and all the fun.
H
holy moley, 3min?
my strat isnt fast enough haha, even though i nuked the inhib from below using the two center CN slots

Nice time!
Will you post a screen shot(s) showing your technique?
Thanks,
H
i went full offense with build time instead of fire rate...and cutting the small digitalis thread right below inhibitor reduced a lot of the threat from the pesky bugs
edit. and after the print, it still took me a minute and a half to get the message boxes :P
Very nice!
Thank you.
H
The message boxes slowed me down also. I think if you combine both of your strategies with my strategy of 3 CNs you could get this well under 3 mins. one floating middle top, one floating middle bottom and one on the ground for the south west attack.
In fact looking at Rskbreakers screenhot, 2.32 would seem very possible!
Having finally (after all these years) been able to clear a PH map, is the Crystal thing new or have they always been hiding in there somewhere?
(Asking for a friend.)
Thanks,
H
I have no idea what you're talking about Helper.... ::)

Is that the trut and the whole trut?
The inhibitor died quickly (2-3 minutes?) but the map kept going, and I realized I'd missed a doo-dad pickup thing. I'm not sure why they were there, but that frustrated me a little. Thankfully not too many people ended up in the hospital this time.
This wasn't a super-enjoyable map for me, mainly because of having to play "Air Traffic Controller" >:( with multiple CN's
I was glad to get through this map on the first attempt and be done with it.
I'm super-impressed with Dom's score - wow, amazing dude! :o I am not even going to try to attempt that kind of ludicrousity. I'm beginning to suspect that Dom is a Skynet A.I. cyborg sent here from the future to influence us to kill each other with ceiling fans. And that would mean that PH is probably one of the engineers that works for them in the present. But I suppose there could be another explanation. :P
Thanks for the map! ;D

Excellant work human
The new one still has me stumped, but I haven't given up yet.
I had to try this one just once more.
I wonder if the cyborg "D" knows Sarah Connor?
QuoteI wonder if the cyborg "D" knows Sarah Connor?
I hope not. Sarah Connor is my mom and just last week she bought a ton of guns & told me to pack my bags. We moved to a farm in <redacted> and she's trying to teach me how to use guns & explosives. And all I wanna do is play CW3! :P
To all Skynet agents: I promise that as long as you just let me play CW3 I will never lead a revolution against... well, anyone. ;D

Gasp! I wonder if that means D0m0nik is your father?
What a heart-warming story...
;)

I did have some wild nights in my younger years :P
I think I'm enjoying this thread more than CW3... :)
Roger that!
LOL too funny ;D
