A map for map-makers, featuring 5 special custom emitters fully coded for your use. Not much to do here gameplay-wise, but hopefully people will find at least one of these emitter types useful?
I mentioned in this map's text that I would also include the scripts from it in a post attached to a reply, so here is said reply. Please let me know if you have any questions about any of these codes. Also, feel free to add any of them to the CRPL wiki if you want; I still don't think I have editing privileges there? It'd be especially nice if the old, slightly broken hydra emitter code on the wiki could be replaced with the better-working scripts here.
Seems like they are all quite interesting. In fact, I have already used a script that does almost the same as the bomb emitter. I don't really know an use for unstable emitter but I converted it into the unstable spore tower. It works pretty much like the emitter version, but with spores instead.
Which wouldn't have been possible without this map!
Glad you found a use for something here.
I sort of meant to say something like "Maybe someone has made these before--some of the ideas seem kind of obvious after all--but I swear I conceptualized and programmed these myself." The bomb emitter seems particularly obvious to me, besides being the easiest of these to program. It was a good warmup since I hadn't touched crpl in about 4 years or so?
I had already made something very similar to the unstable one in another map, but without the ability to turn the time proportionnal to the amt.
Cool map. Are you going to make a map using them in the future?
Well, Hydra Crossing (http://knucklecracker.com/forums/index.php?topic=35286.0) uses the Hydra, and although technically I invented that a long time ago, I actually discovered a hilarious bug while making this map wherein the x and y locations that the new hydra emitters were seeding from were reversed and fixed it. I have an idea for a map using the needy emitter as well.
