I really enjoy you maps,
This one had imho an extreme dense start, in fighting the spores with beams in creeper isn't really relaxing... no idea if it is possible in a "normal" way, I had an extreme energy deficit when I tried...
Getting over to the east wasn't that easy, I've build an army with strafers and bombers, took over the central pumps and flip emitters before I nullified the northern of the remaining spore towers... and I flew my CN for a short time to the east, leaving my base unpowered to get the thor...
However, even when these maps are really sluggish, I like them!

i found the spores were kinda the easiest part :P
I must say, I found the taking of the eastern landmass to be a very hard undertaking.
They have effectively infinite creep, as the pumps feed themselves all the time. Coupled with a 2000/0.03 emitting inhibitor, it means I had to claw my way through a more than 2500-deep creep mass, that due to the pumps had strong self-healing abilities.
And 4 berthas are nice, but without PZ they are not as strong as one would like.
I could have done the startup much better, maybe gotten to the east *before* it has completely saturated itself?

if you just went head on without using your left pumps, yeah, you definitely have a rough battle in front of you...
but if you use the pumps, things look a lot more manageable

I don't recall the map names or numbers, but there are several from way back when that use the checkerboard format.

This map has an interesting start. Most of us like to keep AC emitters, but early game it's a lot more effective to have a reactor PZ. I'm not about to dictate anyone's gameplay, but it's more efficient and you don't need to try nearly as hard.
As others have stated, the eastern land mass is a bit of a challenge. Maximizing pumps is the way to go for sure, and you can support with some PZ strafers. A few berthas hitting a flip emitter, followed by about 30 bombers also works. Lots of possibilities I suppose, but those are a couple extra things that might prove helpful. ;)
Although this wasn't among my favorites of Jason's maps, I have to say it's still far better than most maps out there for seasoned players.
