#little script #epic battle
Not, IMNSHO, an epic battle by any means. More a series of frustrations. Least of which are the high build cost of beams and sprayers initially - that is a simple matter of rearranging priorities and an alternate strategy. it would have been more fun without those - if I could see if it was possible to maintain a bridgehead on the Inhibitor island, but c'est la vie.
What is really frustrating and annoying and I can't find any alternate explanation for it, is the slip emitters that plague the middle section. I had hoped that one I destroyed all emitters on that section, the slip emitters would have been quiesced, which would have made for an interesting, alternate strategy - but no such lcuck. Which is why, about 3 hours of wall time and 37 minutes into the game, I'm abandoning it.
Not so much an epic battle, but what appears to be an unbeatable map. I'm stalled just as Kar is and am also abandoning it. I enjoy maps that are long, but this just has no end and no way forward past a point.
While starting this map, I thought it had great potential as your described 'epic'.
Sadly it was pretty much a slog.
The best maps always have multiple paths to victory, and the fun is figuring out how to navigate this path.
This appears to be nothing but massive power and weaponry, then slog your way through it.
I would love to see a different version of this that would involve tactics.
Thanks,
H
Once completed, (yea, I find it hard to leave a map uncompleted) there was actually an alternate tactic. I might try again. :) Also, some of the early times on this map made me scratch my head. Either there was an oversight, or the cheaters got in early. :)

I started running right up the middle and hit all those darn random(?) bursts of Creeper. I held the Totems for Aether, then did an end around the left side.
I think maybe the 20-something times were those who did the end run from the jump and started building Bertha's as they made PZ's.
(That yahoo with the 14 second time must be right proud of his performance.)

(BTW, working on "BlamBloom" right now. Fun map.

Yeah, I checked the script and it is pretty much random.
Spoiler
It picks a random X coordinate between 135 and 190, and a random Y coordinate between 78 and 178 to drop 50 creeper. This happens once per second.
edit: added spoiler tag
Actually, I belatedly realized the entire middle section can be skipped
