Edit:
Oh, and: Ripley was the character who said "I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit - it's the only way to be sure."

The terrain is the default map, but by accident (I loaded before saving). I kept it because ... it's not the same by the end.

Interesting map.
How does one end the game?
I took out all of the Emitters, but all that did is trigger a new round.
Thanks,
H

"100" foes, I guess wave counter would fix this...

Each new wave is smaller than the one before, but somewhat tougher.

Eventually, there will be only one enemy dropped.

Good fun. I didn't read your spoilers and wish I had done, may replay later as you could fairly fly through this with proper planning and prep.

Not to mention knowing exactly what locations will be impacted. Alter's strategy would be something to behold, here.

Yeah it would. I didn't get round to a replay but with terps, walls, berthas it could be an interesting challenge. I have no idea what time is possible but an alter one could halve our times I think.

Had another go for 18 mins, I realised towards the end (I'm a bit slow sometimes) that:

Spoiler
You can pause just before the emitters touch down and move units, they won't be affected in the air.

Later in the game prob poss to preload nullifiers on certain PZs

I'm not patient enough but another 4 or 5 mins could be cut off my time.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions.
I'll start again from my last save.
One note - about the first Spoiler.
I played through three cycles and the Emitters never dropped in the same spot.
Not a big deal, but it does give your Terps a workout.
:)

That is strange, if you save and reload they land in the same spots.

Hmmm...OK. I just went back to the save a few seconds before 20 minutes.
I'll play through a while and see what happens.

If it is giving you different impact points in different attempts, then that rather defeats the point of my implementing a pseudo-RNG for the purpose.

I've got screenshots of the various waves as I see them ... at what stage does it start to do other things, for you?

My maps look about like yours.
Every cycle drops most Emitters in a different location.
At the start of the 4th cycle, I had about 38 Emitter locations (live and hot spots).
At that point I gave up and moved on.
I used to run marathons, but gave up on them many decades ago.

Ah, I think I see ... I must not have been clear in the spoiler: Each wave drops in a predetermined spot. The spots are not the same between waves.

From your screenshot, you're on the 3-Emitter wave ... so there would be a 2-wave, and then one last Emitter. I'm glad you had enough fun to play for a while, even if it wasn't ultimately your cup of tea.

I am always grateful to the folks who make maps. Way back when I gave it a try and learned real quickly to appreciate the effort involved.
I'm just getting back into CW after a few years rest and will come back to finish this one when I get some skills back.
Thanks for the work you do.

For my part, at least ... I think you overestimate. I have an idea, throw together a script, and probably don't spend enough time balancing it.

Nevertheless, thanks; :)
