Skars and Lia stumble upon an ancient mining world which is under attack by the creeper! Can they save the adorable spiderbot from the Creeper, or will it trample them to death first? Not a super difficult map, but if you can figure out how to reduce the probability of Spidertron trampling your things it will get a lot less annoying. Future maps in which you can control the spidertron are planned! Both rushable and turtleable.
So, speaking as someone who likes spiders, it's fairly cute, as long as the body stays at the center of the legs. If the body ends up hanging out in the middle of nowhere with all its legs on one side, which it inevitably does with how frantically it scurries around, the result is honestly very unsettling. Not insurmountably so, but... eugh. If you could do something to at least make that happen less often, that'd be great.
On a related note, something of that size should probably move around at least a little slower, if not a lot slower.
And this is more of a personal preference, but I find the spiderweb spokes to be irritatingly thin. I don't mind having a constricted space to place things, but the number of segments that don't allow any placement at all gets more annoying than challenging at points. :v

Hah, you should have seen how bad it was before I figured out how to detect that! In fact, here's a screenshot from Grabz (https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/369708437438988289/476268037171970049/unknown.png). I'm already on course to make it less prone to do this in further levels -- I just have to make the walking algorithm more robust so that this doesn't result in it getting stuck when it shouldn't.

Yeah, this is 2.5 times the default speed. Future levels will definitely have a slower Spidertron, but in this case I wanted to make sure it looked like it was panicking, and not just wandering around for no reason.

Yeah, personal preference I guess. I honestly thought it was gonna be worse than it was before I played it, but thankfully I didn't have to adjust it too much to make it workable.
I saw this map on the forum and decided to load up CW3 for the first time in months - just to try the map.
Pretty cool concept! The spider does get weird and stretchy, and it makes me wonder what it's looking for? Is it searching for food? A new home? It's spiderlings? Politicians that aren't corrupt? I mean, who knows?
I thought the dialogue included something about "containing the spider" so I tried looking for a few ways to contain it, but I dunno. Maybe I was missing something.
I liked the map overall. It's challenging enough but easy enough at the same time. Thanks for all your work on it, great job!
;D

My first guess seemed accurate: the spider sticks to one terrain level; terraform the terrain down and the spider won't stomp on those spots.
Ahh. I tried "containing" it with weapons and... well, I guess that's all I used, lol.
Nice work on the terraforming tip ;)
I found it easier to fly the CN's over the middle to nullify it, as opposed to building a grid on the "web". But I enjoy terraforming, so if I had to do it over again I'd probably follow your strategy. 8)
