any chance a code monkey can come up with a way of having the monitor toggle on or off please?

i can't stand it taking up so much space and don't need it, but i get that others will, so a way to disable it would be nice.

perhaps a key can be mapped to make it disappear?

not a code monkey so not sure, but i guess somethign could be done?

Maybe stop calling people code monkeys first.

It's straightforward enough.

With that being said - "monkey" is not encouraging, though I do understand that it might be an everyday phrase for you. (I admit that there's an overtone of laziness - if a monkey could do it, surely it would be trivial for you?)

Edit, having read the reply below: It can be done, largely by copy/paste of something to set image widths to 0.

once 1 ->Show endonce

"H" GetKeyDown if <-Show not ->Show endif #To be nicer, this should not work more than once a second

<-Show not if
    Self "bar_1" 0 SetImageScaleX
endif

So you know... "code monkey" is a derisive term in some regions.

Yes. You are right!

I created this map for new "yummy semiconductor" unit, but then decided to modify a little and uploaded it.

code monkey is a term of endearment.

if you took it wrongly that is on you.

no, monkeys can do lots of things i cannot.  i do not consider them lazy or see a reason to be insulted by a comparison to one.

code monkey is a term of endearment.

now everyone knows my position on monkeys (awesome creatures, lots of mad skills i don't have) perhaps onto the meat of the issue?

is that monitor toggle-able as it were?  would someone care to write that code please?

and if not, no problem, i was not demanding anything, just offering up a suggestion i felt would improve the play experience for some people like myself.

Dear teknotiss!
Very glad to see you here!  :)
At least next stargate maps will be without monitor.

Best regards,

hey dude!  good to see you too, in a text fashion at least.

loving the Cornucanis maps my man, keep em coming!

Also the Bomber maps (i think it was Grabz scripts for those?) are pretty cool too!

i didn't want it taken out necessarily dude!  just wondered if it could be turned off by the player?

no worries anyway, have fun  8)

I have gotten stuck on a few of these where I can't make any progress. For example, for this map, I have about half of it done. The anticreeper is at 184 or so, but the creeper is at 270+. Any hints?

Yes. You are right! The most "hard/critical part" of the map at the middle of game.

Spoiler
In the middle of game you can get position where from one side of wall emitters with 180K intensity and in opposite side - 250K. By physical laws creeper has inertia and if you open the wall you can flip 250K emitter. The best places for this attacks - left and right medium part of map in direction to get "positive Spore Towers". Stargates also can help in this attack - remove walls near targeting Spore Towers.

Thanks for comment and good luck!  :)

Without getting into the glitchy things like yum said (which I *do* consider glitches, others may not), on this map there are several ways to improve your situation.

Spoiler
Once you have the top of the map cleared, which is pretty simple, you can use the blue stargates as your catalyst to get the right side opened.  You just need to get to the point where you can open a blue stargate.  I went halfway down the left side then halfway down the right side.  At that point I think I had 2 blue stargates available and flooded them.  The blue stargates do not contain nearly as much creeper as the pink ones, so between them, what you've already cleared, and the big emitter in the center (walled off with just a yellow stargate), you can overwhelm the right side by flooding the blue stargates.  Warning, though, I had to close them all back off after taking the right side due to the negative tower being in the same area as the blue stargate in the center.)

Great map, yum.  However, could you consider disabling the singularity weapon on the forge in future maps?  Singularity seems awful cheaty on these types of maps.  I had to use singularity just to beat one of them (not yours, someone else's).  I think it's in the spirit of the game for people to only have AC as a weapon.  While singularity isn't a weapon, per-se, it certainly defeats the puzzle behind these types of maps.

Oh and PS:  I'm a developer for a living and have been for many years now and I took exactly 0 exception to the term "code monkey."  It's an industry term for someone that isn't part of the design process for something but is just writing code to implement a specific design (aka a "coder).  I'm sure teknotiss meant no ill intentions with the term, nor should any really be taken.

I don't know how to "off" singularity weapons. And maybe it is not necessary. Because I created all my CSM games so that it is possible to win without singularity weapon. Player should have choice: be enjoyed by gameplay or just win using singularity weapon.   :)

And we thank you for it - the Singularity is also useful for those who want to recover from a mistake which they can't necessarily seal off.
