I have never seen a modified post as a unread post.
But, if it is, how to delete this topic?

If someone modifies a post, there will be a little blue marker next to the thread title on the board display. It will not, however, show up on the link "Show unread posts since your last visit."
This is an SMF issue and Virgil has little control over that, uness he wants to spend time with SMF.
No need to delete this thread, it can stay here as a reference for others wanting the same function.
You may want to go to the SMF community and ask there if they can make a change to how the software works, or why it works the way it does, or anything concerning the software.
