Nice concept ! A big problem is that if you save the game and come back to it the energy conversion stops working. I played from scratch a couple of times before I realised what was happening. This was on an iMac, so it may be different on Windows (?)

It was a good concept.  There were a few obvious problems.  First, don't just throw hundreds of ore fields on the map.  Balance it so you have to beat something in order to improve your situation.  Defeat a section, get rewarded with the mine fields, and in turn improve your energy conversion.

However, the bigger problem was the oscillation of the energy conversion itself.  It took way too long for the converters to charge.  If it's the only energy option, have it be a reasonably stable energy supply and give the player a means by which to improve that supply.

It would be interesting to be make AC weapons available - make a trade-off between using AC for energy or attack. On this map AC deposits were super abundant - I was never remotely short of AC, but on another map, things could be much tighter.
