Excellent design, at some points pretty tricky - Great map!
But to be honest, I had no idea what to do with the shields ;)

I used my shields on that left platform (not the one with the emitter, the platform just near it, with 6 spots and 2 colors yellow and white) to push the creeper away and then kill that emitter.

About the Shield :

The Shield is useful on the left, even if the Cannon is enough ... But shh, it's a secret! ;)
honestly i have no idea where to go after i reach the totems :-\
When you have reached the totems,

you first of all should resist from connecting them as the needed relays would be unguarded spore targets. Then you should have guppies, ore and cannons - this should help you to get to the center.

I used some 2-3 bombers with anti creep to atack the middle platform.
I also send some "sacrifice" cannons to the middle platform to help cleaning it.
After sometime, there was a little space on the edge of that platform to land cannons and guppys and built a nullifier to destroy that emitter.
Good job! There are few maps that remain interesting from beginning to end, this is one of them; and a long-player, too! I especially like that it requires brains and power balancing to progress but you are never in danger of being overrun by creeper, so there is little pressure but much satisfaction for solving one riddle at a time. I played it twice today.

The essence is to make use of the ample supply of ore - but not all of it - and build many bombers. Forget sprayers, you need only one at the beginning.
